He's Going to Camp AND We're Still Going to Disney:) Update Dec 14 post #665

Woohoo! Another man.

Welcome aboard disneydad.

Not another MAN! It was a hard enough job for all of us girls just keeping you behaving yourself.

Now you have a partner in crime! Whatever will we do, girls?!?! :)

Really, I think it is GREAT that we have these good dads around here!

I hope you all have had a nice weekend. Trent went to Kristi's mom's lakehouse. Drew's been in and out all weekend. I've worked on school work and rearranged my bedroom a little. Jill, John, and Brooklynn did landscaping. Nothing exciting.

Jill and I are hoping to have a mini-Dismeet later this week with a POP CM who is coming through TN. If it works with her schedule, VandyFan10 is coming, too. This will be fun, if everyone's work times, travel times, etc. work out.

I think we have four weeks of school left, and that's it. Of course, I'm working summer school, but at least there's a one week break and summer school will be just four weeks of half-days. Do you guys do year-round/balanced schedule?

I teach 11 months of the year and pooksma is on the traditional Sept to June schedule. Of course she is on vacation (I mean leave this term).

Hi all!

I am still trying to find/create the perfect t-shirts and have been over to the creative board more than I have been here.

We are now on flood alert in our city. The river runs through the center and we are expecting rain for the next three days. The walking trails are covered in some areas.

This is why we live on a mountain.

Hope everyone is happily planning:flower3:

I've been trying to find/create the perfect family t-shirt too. I've got my kids a few ones (shh, my hubby thinks everyone is just getting one) but have yet to decide upon a family "crest". I think I've become a T-shirt junkie. The kids have three each (one for fun, one for the wonderland tea-party and one for the pirate cruise. If you're doing the math that actually makes four because they'll have a family one too.)

Michael's had a sale on t-shirts a while back and the only colour I could find for all 7 of us in the same colour was yellow. So I know it has to go with a yellow background. Never thought of adding glitter..... my daughter has a bedazzler (given to her by an aunt who also enjoys giving my children elaborate craft projects and loud, electric musical toys....When she has her own I am adding fresh batteries to them and giving them BACK)...oh new options for the t-shirts.  I'd sign off and get working on them.

As I sit here typing, my "friend" has come to visit once again. She's enjoying the greens right beside my patio. never ceases to amaze me.

We did our romantic tenth with our then 4 year old. We did all kinds of romantic activities; Peter Pan, BTMRR, Splash, Test Track; you know all the couple rides. :)

Actually I loved the split. I wasn't for one this time because we are staying for just a week. I don't want to be moving around during a short stay, especially when we are staying at a new resort. We had a 40% code last summer as well and that helped with the Deluxe but we had already booked AKL when we received it. We were forced to move from AKL because of the construction. The Poly was a great move.

It looks like a mini DisMeet is shaping up on this thread. So far we have 3 groups travelling at the same time.

Sign me up I am going for the ride see you in August I will be at POP Aug 3 - 18 this year :)

I think I will need to make a few sign up sheets for everyone. :)

Well it looks I'm in for a long commute tonight. My normal 20 -30 minute drive home is looking like 1 - 2 hours becasue of the flooding. Maybe I should just sleep at work. As long as I get to say good night to declan and pooksma, and watch the HAbs beat the flyers, I will be happy.

Stay safe!

It sounds like you guys can have a good meet in August. Very fun!

Your photos on the Pop Pictures thread inspired me to buy a new camera and to stay at POP for the first time :worship:

Maybe a trip on the disney cruiseline down to my neck of the woods (CAYMAN ISLANDS) is in order !!! what do you say Pooksma

I know what you mean. We have huge ones around here that walk right up into the front yard. You just wonder how something so big can live so close to all these houses.

Let us know when Dad makes it home safely tonight.

As it turns out, Mom and Dad were both caught across the river tonight. We spoke on the phone and declansdad made it home before I did. (sat at one corner for 45 minutes)
Schools have been closed for tomorrow due to flooding-Declan is happy as his school is one of the ones that was closed. (4 remain open)

Declansdad is happily :rotfl: watching his beloved Habs. (who are NOT winning:rolleyes1 ) and cursing out Bob Cole (Canadian friends, you know of whom I speak)

Flood updates tomorrow.

I think I managed to find the only street that was traffic free all the way to the bridge. I passed many streets that were gridlocked but I think I may have had the quickest trip home ever. :rotfl2:

Disneydad, I will throw you a rope as we fly over Georgia; just grab hold.

What did you get? You will love Pop and I'm sure that you will come back with lots of great pictures. Can't wait to see them.

Cayman Islands sounds great to me.

I just like to pick on declansdad, sort of like a little brother. Giving him a cohort in little brother ways (getting in his jabs at the womenfolk) just makes our job a little tougher. But, we'll manage.

You picked the right report to read. Ma and Dad are good folks (never met 'em, but I just know they are), and they will come back with a great report and lots of awesome pictures that will make you feel like you are right there in Disney World.

And as an added bonus, they have a fantastic son with just THE winningest smile! I've watched him grow up right here on the screen during the last couple of years.

So, I really wasn't picking on you, but may pick at you, all in fun.

And I'm all for Canada, too.
The movie in Epcot was beautiful.
The drunk people that were in our group were not, but I don't think they were from Canada, so it's all good! :)

Anybody with three kids, a dog, a granddaughter (aren't granddaughters amazing????) and a love for Disney is more than okay in my book!

Since you're in Georgia, and I have to go through there on my way to Disney World, do you think you could have supper ready for us?
Can you cook like Paula Deen?

Oh, never mind. We're flying next time. I'll be eating peanuts when I'm going through/over Georgia.

By the way, staying on the GA theme, I lived in GA during two tours at Robins AFB (dad was in Air Force) when I was a kid. Are you near there?

Holy Cow! talk about putting pressure on us. ;)

You won't see many pics of Declan on this trip, actually there won't be any. And no one tell him that we are going, he still doesn't know and we aren't ready to incur his wrath.

MeMom, those drunk people couldn't have been Canadian. Canadians can't get drunk drinking American beer. :rotfl2:
