I am thinking about trying price line for my September car rental after reading another post on DIS. Just wondering how the transportation to the Hertz off site location went for you if you have used them. How long did transportation to the site take? How long from landing to leaving with the car? I'm just trying to see if it's worth it. We are rental a car to see other things outside of the world but also to easy the waiting on arrival and departure. Any info would be great!

We rented from Hertz years ago and now only rent from on-site agencies. We got the bus right away but stood in line to get the car forever. We were over an hour getting the car and won't be doing that again. Hopefully things have changed - hopefully someone that has used them in the recent past can help with that. We also find that we have actually gotten better pricing from Alamo/Dollar/National (all on-site pick-ups). Even with AAA discount the other are better than Hertz. Mousesaver.com has discount codes and coupons that might help.

I am a Gold member so I don't wait, but Hertz has implemented a Kiosk check in system at MCO I think.

Until recently they were my first choice, but while I still find the MCO location great overall they have taken a dive so.....I now price shop. I won't rent from Alamo (I will walk first) and try NOT to remember that National and Alamo are owned by the same folks. That said for my next rental at MCO right now Hertz is coming up $40 cheaper!

I used Hertz for my trip two weeks ago. Normally I wouldn't rent offsite either but I got it thru priceline. It was very quick getting to the offsite location, and I didn't have to wait in line probably because it was 10pm and there were plenty of available agents. Returning the car was just as easy. I would do it again if the price was right.

After I use priceline and find out which company I go through, do you think I could sign up for their "incentive program" (or whatever it is called) to speed up the line waiting process. I am very new to this car rental thing.:upsidedow

There are always shuttles waiting to take you to the Hertz lot so it will be very quick.

Hertz will not recognize your status with them if you use Priceline.

Hey, BonnieA,
We are using Hertz in July. We will pick up the car at the MCO but will return it after we check in at our Disney Resort (Saratoga Springs). Any tips for getting the car to the rental center at Disney (and where it is -- haven't found any info) and back to our resort? Any help would be great!

That is correct. I am #1 club gold but got a $12/day rental through priceline last month - you cannot convert your PL rental to a gold rental.

So yes you will wait in line if you get Hertz through PL. I left my DD with our bags and trotted inside quickly ahead of the rest of the people on the bus or I would have been in line a long time at about 10:30 a.m.

I know people love Hertz but unless I get a great deal like that I will not risk getting them again through PL at MCO. All told with a 15-minute wait for the bus and then the wait in line, it added at least an hour on the front end and a half hour on the return.

Although Hertz is off-site, the're pretty much on the way to Disney.

Leaving their lot you get back to the main drag (436; Semoran Blvd.). Right here and right again at the last traffic light in sight (Frontage). Next light (Conway) is just over a mile down the road and you go left and left again quickly to get on 528 (Beach Line) west. I think it is now set up that when the pay toll signs appear you need to get to the far right and go down what looks like an exit ramp to pay tolls without a Florida (Sunpass; E-pass; not EZ) transponder. Then onto I-4 south and Disney exits will appear shortly.

To reverse this route I-4 East to 528 East get off 528 at its exit 9 (Tradeport). Left and cross under, get into middle lane, required right onto McCoy (becomes Frontage), then left at light onto Semoran. (If you needed to top off, do so right at Exit 9 Tradeport, not on Semoran where there are super expensive gas stations.)

I used priceline and leave this week. I see that I can check in on line before I leave home, get a confirmation with a bar code and I am guaranteed a car in 10 minutes or they give me $50.00!!
Not sure if that is for the kisok or just speeds up the process in a special line. I think I will call and ask before we leave.
