I know this is the Dis Boards, but last month I posted about Hershey Park putting a water park within the park itself and quite a few folks were interested, so here is what I saw when I went to the park a few weeks ago.

The water park is indeed in the park itself, the progress is going pretty quickly, I got to see a nice amount of the colorful tube slides they were connecting. It is going to be very tall from the looks of it, and very colorful. They basically jammed it in there, however it looks like is going to work. There are already posting signs that say where and where you can not wear swimwear.

You really can't compare Hershey with Disney, but for people in the New York and PA area it is a nice little park and with the addition of this water park it will be pretty decent.

There was another thread that seems to indicate a rumor that DAK will actually have a little water park inside of it. I still think if they do another water park it would be on its own and have a Captain Jack Sparrow/Pirates theme.

We went to Hershey Park back in '04, and they already had several Water Park type rides then, including the, then new, Roller Soaker. Roller coaster type ride, where you are sprayed by people below, but you get to release your own payload of water on the people below :thumbsup2 .

Yes, they are very strict about not wearing swim attire outside the "water park" area, which is actually in the middle of the park. You have to walk through this area to get to the back part of the park where some of the newer rides are.

We really enjoyed Hershey, found it to be very clean, and lots to do for all ages. If you like roller coasters, there are a lot, including some really nice old style wood coasters.

We like Hershey for a nice little one day trip. I use my DIS skills and get there early, have a plan, take little breaks. We were there in June on a weekday and actually walked onto all the big coasters 2 or 3 times all day!! All the kids were on the water rides so we took advantage of the rest of the park! The parking lot was only about 1/3 full. It was a great day!!

My family loves Hershy Park, but we have only gone during the Christmas Candy Lane time. It's perfect for the under 10 set as only the smaller rides are open & you only have to pay as you go. The park is decorated beautifully. It's usually very cold but if you bundle up and drink lots of hot chocolate no one seems to mind.

We were just at Hersheypark yesterday and they certainly are well on their way with the construction of the water ride area. It is fairly small given the limited amount of space, plus they are also constructing a "Boardwalk" in the same area. No idea what it's going to look like or even if there will be an actual body of water there, but they were digging a large ditch so I suppose it's possible.

I agree Hershey is clean and family-friendly. Much nicer than the Six Flags parks. And it's nice to see prominent references to Milton Hershey, including a new statue of him near the entrance of the park. Similar to Walt's statue in the MK.

Cool, I love Hersheypark even though it's been a few years since I've been there.

I think Milton Hershey was a lot like Walt Disney in their positive effect on a lot of people.

We were in Hershey for the day last Wednesday and were able to see some of the construction of the new "Boardwalk" for 2007. I took a pic of one of the slides being built and you could peek through some of the fencing and see the pool being dug out for another slide.

When I was there a few weeks ago one of my friends mentioned that the new waterpark looks like a giant version of the board game Mousetrap, lol. It really does. My favorite ride is Roller Soaker....it rocked!
