Considering making this our summer vaca for summer 2010. Anyone out there who's been there done that that cares to share their knowledge?
I will try to help, we live close and have season passes many years and go once or twice every week
Can the park be done in 1 or 2 days? What would your recommend?
For your first time I would plan on 2 full days and pack your suits for the new Boardwalk and the Seaqual opening this weekend.
I see a zoo close by?
Yes, the entrance is right next to HP but honestly you can go for free with HP tickets by walking over a bridge(Near the Falcon ride) from HP. IMO it will take about 1-2 hours.
The bears are our favorite, all the animals are from North America. I would not personally pay to go just there from the outside entrance but I am spoiled with season passes, but they do have a Great program for the scouts once (?) a year.
Worth it for a 7 year old girl?
I would go from the bridge and the building are nice change of pace and a cool place to chill out for a while.
Any other "neat" things to do in and around Hershey that you would recommend?
Hershey outlets are right down the road (2 blocks)
Definately need to hit the Hershey store/factory for MOM's chocolate fix.
Chocolate World is packed int he mornings so I recommend going afternoon or evenings. We never did the 3-D movie but we always do the the CW "freebie" ride. (don;t forget about the free samples they give after the ride) Becareful the song the cows sing get stuck in your head. I swear all the times we have gone the girls will know it better than the employees do.
We will have a car as we are only about 4 hours away, so we will be driving
Gettysburg, Harrisburg, York and Lancaster is close and many tourist things to do.
thanks.
