There was talk about a character meal geared toward boys (instead of princess meals) like a Heroes Character Meal. Anything happening in that area???

Sorry, but Disney as a whole never has been successful when it comes to boys. The closest thing I can think of is the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at Poly.

I think this was the rumor for a while as to what would go into Hollywood & Vine at MGM. However, it turned out to be the Playhouse Disney characters instead.

LOL, take him to Universal's Island of Adventure to have breakfast with Spiderman. You can't get more boy-oriented than that.

So we get a pre-school character meal instead of one geared toward boys (and all those girls who like heroes too). Now that seems like a meal that appeals to everyone

What a suggestion... take him to Universal (barf). I would love a heros meal, too bad they don't have one. We'll be having my son's birthday in WDW, and there is nowhere really special for him. Heros could have Mulan, Hercules, Woody and Buzz, Aladin, Peter Pan... it would be a hit for all my kids, but great for my son who does not appreciate Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
Speaking of such things... they really need another boy aimed movie. The frog prince could have been it, but they decided to make it all about the girl instead.

The universal character breakfast is inside the parks I think. But I remember that the characters are much more boy-oriented,like Spidey, Cat in The Hat, Thing One and Thing Two, and Scooby-Doo.

I was lucky enough to attend the Mother's Day brunch at Epcot 2005. It was a HEROS character meal, plus the Fairy Godmother. There was Hercules, Prince Charming, Aladdin, Beast, Peter Pan, Prince Eric, Mickey Mouse (in a tux), and someone else that I cannot think of now. It was great. All the character interaction was in the "lobby" area before/after your meal - nobody roaming around the tables.

I agree that a regular meal like this would be great - and add some villians - Captain Hook, Hades... (and I have a GIRL)

I agree. I would love to have a Toy Story meal with Woody and Buzz, but then you'll have people complain that it's too geared toward boys, and Jesse would have to be there so that the girls wouldn't feel left out.

But it's perfectly OK to have something called "My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party"

My DD9 is no longer into Princesses and would LOVE a heroes meal. It could include Mr. Incredible, Aladin, Hercules, Robin Hood, Buzz, Woody, and even female heroines like Mulan, Pocahantas and Mrs. Incredible. I'll bet it would appeal to a lot of boys and girls.

Not only would boys love a hero character meal but men too! DF is 28 and would so go to a meal wih Buzz and Hercules! Mulan, Jesse and Mrs. Incredible would be great for the girls. Disney should really do this!

As a mom to two boys and as a female whose only real WDW female character that I like is Tinkerbell I would love a "Hero Meal" and definately throw in a few villians. We are a WDW family but I do with they'd gear some more things towards the boys.

There was some serious talk about a Toy Story meal at Hollywood and Vine about a year or so ago, but there were some legal and logistical problems, and that will not be happening any time soon.
