Here's where we ate during our trip (10/5-10/12). I will give more details and reviews if requested as not to bore anyone with details that might not be required:

House of Blues Gospel Brunch
Bongos
Boulangerie Patisserie
Marrakesh
ABC Commisary
Boma
Cheesecake Factory at Disney Quest
Port Orleans Food Court
Wolfgang Puck Express
Other quick noshes through the day....

Quick impressions:

I can't stress enough how wonderful the HOB Brunch is. The food was great and the choir was incredible. There can be a line at the omlette stations, but get there early enough and you can get a jump on that, or wait a bit and not make eggs your first "course." All in all, the best meal and show we saw during our stay.

There seems to be some sort of "Boma Backlash" on the boards here. I think it was because some of us (including me) were so jazzed up about it when it forst opened that it set expectations way too high. I still think it is the best dinner buffet on property. For the most part, I hate buffets, but Boma's set up makes it feel less like a cafeteria than most. The chefs are very helpful and the chicken curry stew is something I could eat every day.

Split counter service meals. They are for the most part way too big. I think Disney tries to justify its sometimes steep prices by loading on french fries as a cheap way to make your plate look full.

Well, today is my day of rest after my vacation, so I am headed for a shower. Please ask any questions you might have or if you would like me to go into any further detail on anything.

I'm eager to do the Gospel Brunch at HOB. Can you give me details like times, cost. Did you do a PS? How far in advance? Thanks. This will hopefully be my birthday treat in December.

The Gospel Brunch is held on Sundays. There is a 10:30 seating and a 1:00 seating. You must purchase the tickets directly from HOB. They start selling tickets a month prior to the date. For two of us, the bill was 62.00.

A menu and the numbers are available at the HOB website (www.houseofblues.com)

Have a great time and eat some bread pudding for me!

I would also like to hear more about your experience at the Restaurant Marrakesh. Would you go back?

Thanks for sharing!

Just wondering how your Cheesecake Factory and W.P. Express meals were at Downtown Disney. Any details would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
penny

Hey all-

I had the Chicken Couscous at Marrakesh. It was two chicken breasts, grilled on a huge mound of very flavorful couscous. My dining partner that night had the Moroccan Salmon which was cooked perfectly and on a bed of delicious seasoned rice. The total for both meals with tip was a little over 60.00. I would go back in a second. The entertainment ( a belly dancer and a sitarist/drummer) was also top notch.

The food in Disney Quest was also surprisingly good and freshly prepared. I had a cheeseburger. The wait time was a little longer than I like, and several people were having troubles getting exactly what they ordered, but all in all I was satisfied with what I had.

Hope this helps.....

What meal did you have at Bongos? How was the food? I haven't read too much about this restaurant.

Since we ate at Bongos late after the Sunday Brunch, we decided just to split the appetizer combo. It included several options and was more than enough for a meal for two.
