Here's what I worked out last night - re DVC

I found a place, but the most recent charts I could find was for 2000. Even then, a moderate resort in value season was 16 points on a week night, and 28 on a weekend. The 10 day stay we had at POFQ: 4 weekend nights @ 28 = 112
+ 5 weeknights @ 16 = 80
192 points ($1920 by renting, 1255.68 purchase). This September, that would be:
1174.50 in cash, with only AAA discount, less if there's a code. So I guess it really does depend upon the way you travel.

DVC is great if you want to stay at the DVC resorts, and if you don't do a lot over weekends. Don't get me wrong, if I had mad cash to spend, I'd probably buy in, too, just to own Disney.

Buying DVC makes absolutely no sense if you would use your points to stay at moderates on a regular basis. Your points will get used up so quickly. We usually arrive on Sat morning so we pay one night of weekends, it's not practical for us to get there on a Fri night anyway.

Is AKV really only going to be 8 points in low season?

Yes, a studio will be 8pts for Adventure and Choice seasons, 9 for Dream, 11 for Magic, and 14 for Premier seasons. I'm not sure if you can find the point chart on line yet but this is for a studio!

So how much does 150 AKV points cost with taxes??

The minimum by in is now 160pts, and that came to $15595.40usd.

Can Canadians get finanacing if they wanted?

Yes, you can use Disney finance but it was 11.25%, too high for me!!

Can we pay by credit card?Yes, I used my Amex to get Airmiles and paid it off when we got home.

We don't always want to be limited to DW for our vacations and wanted more info on how we could use our points for other vacations if we even could.

Yes, you can use your points for other Disney destinations including there cruise line as well as over 500 non disney destinations around the world.

If you have any other ???'s ask away, I'm new to this so i might not be able to answer all of them, but I'll try.

p.s. they will work around your schedule when your there if you want to go to a presentation. My guide started at 730 in the morning the day we bought. They will also pick you up from anywhere on WDW property and take you anywhere on WDW property. When we first went to get info we had an hour to kill. There is no hard sell and I told them I only 45 min and I wanted to be back in the van to MGM for Fantasmic. 2 days later i went back with some questions and I liked what I heard.:teacher:

actually it's $1.04 per point with a 160 minimum so it actually works out to $16640USD to buy into AKL but remember that it goes until 2057. You could buy into Boardwalk for around $12000 but that ends in 2042. A difference of around $4500 for 15 more years.

There is a promo on right now, i think until June 4th. The promo is you get $8 off per point. The price I quoted was the total amount I was charged for 160pts with closing costs.
