we arrived Thursday afternoon around 4pm. Checked right in to our offsite resort (Sheraton Vistana...really like it) and headed directly to DHS. Some things we've noted:

The crowds are high but manageable. Have a good touring plan and use Fastpass and you'll do fine.

Weather is lovely. We've been comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt during the day and a hoodie at night. It has been chilly after dark.

Cast members are great. Not a sour puss in the bunch so far.

Disney Springs is just outstanding. Ate a Blaze and D-Lux Burger and both were fantastic. We have no ADRs this trip so everything has been counter serve.

The new Muppet show in Liberty Square was adorable! Jingle Bell Jingle Bam was sensory overload...almost too much going on. We were never sure where to look, but it was quite the spectacle. The drone show was short and fascinating but needs a LOT of work. It is super hard to discern what the heck they are trying to do...like a Rorschach's test. It just doesn't work for 3D images. Once they figure it out I'm sure it will be cool...but no way it could ever replace the awe of fireworks.

Finally got to try both a sweet cream cheese pretzel and the cheeseburger egg roll. Both were good, and I'm glad we tried them but too much pickle in the egg roll for my tastes.

As for our lows...if you saw two adults openly weeping in the loading area at Tower of Terror on Thursday night, that was us. We had literally just arrived at the park when we got the call from our farm sitter that our beloved cat, Itchy, had taken a turn for the worst. She has thyroid issues and is on medication but it hasn't been working like we'd hoped. She was in terrible shape. I called our vet and they brought her in to the clinic for us where the vet agreed she was too sick to go on and wouldn't make it through the night. So they euthanized her...we got the confirmation she had passed while on line. It was very difficult to continue on with the rest of the evening.

Also, Friday morning one of my horses developed a big hoof infection and had a chunk or his hoof cut away to get to it....gross I know. But just another thing to stress about while away.

Tonight we head back to MK to do a few more things. Despite our emotional wreckage, it's been a lovely trip.

Sorry to hear about your cat & horse. Tough situation to be having so much fun at the world and to suffer a loss like that. Enjoy what you can while you're at the world, it sounds like the the CMs are on their toes and the weather is wonderful. :)

I am so sorry to hear about your cat and your horse. We found out a very beloved dog of ours had a very aggressive form a nasal cancer during our last day of our Christmas trip in 2012. I know how that feels. Sincerely hope the rest of your trip is nothing but pure joy and magic

So sorry about your kitty. We dealt with almost the same type of situation last December while we were on a cruise. Luckily we were able to have him for another week after we got home.

Hope your horse will get much better soon!

So tough to go through something like that while on vacation. Similar things have happened to us, and it makes you feel guilty. I am positive that you gave your cat a wonderful home and a wonderful life while she was with you, and she would thank you if she could!

Hope you continue to have a good trip, hard to lose animal family.

Where did you find the cream cheese pretzel and egg roll?

I'm sorry about your kitty :( We lost a cat over the summer while on vacation in Hawaii (we were on vacation, not the cat...) and it's hard when you're far away and can't do anything. I hope your horse feels better soon!

I feel the same way about the drone show; it was a great glimpse into how that technology will be used, but the show isn't ready yet.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. Ironically, we were in the France Pavilion in EP in 2014 when I got a call from our vet notifying us of our cat's thyroid problems. We kept her going on a new diet and medication for about 9 months, but, she too eventually had to be put to sleep because of her thyroid issues. It's such a sad thing to lose a pet :( I hope you will still be able to enjoy your trip.

The pretzel was at the Lunching Pad in Tomorrow land and the egg roll was at the elusive egg roll cart in adventure land.

Crowds are insane here st MK (I assume it's because the park is open late and do many other nights were party nights. The dang people mover had a line snaking all the way down by the AstroOrbiter!

At MK now too. It is as busy as I have seen it including spring break crowds. I am sure it is because it is one of the few nights nights the MK isn't closed for a Christmas Party.

Sorry for the loss of your kitty Itchy.
She is at peace now. Its hard to say goodbye especially when you need to make the decision to put them to sleep.. we lost our beloved puppy this way back in feb. You did what was best for her and I'm sure that she had a good life with you filled with love. Try to remember the good times when you feel down it helps to heal.
Best wishes for a quick recovery for you horse.
Enjoy your trip.

I wanted to like your post, but with your Kittybabygirl passing and your horse having hoof problems, I thought it would send the wrong kind of message. My condolences on the loss of your beloved kitty. I hope all goes well for your horse.
But, I am happy you have had an outstanding vacation so far.
Take care and know that you now have a kittyangel looking over you!

Thanks guys. This trip has been a doozy. we've gotten a report from home (our farm/business) every day that has been some kind of huge problem. I am kind of dreading going home to this mountain of awful. It's so hard for us to get away. every time my phone rings or I get a text my heart drops.

Farms are so hard to leave!!! There's always something every single day that I think you just handle as part of TCB...
It may seem more overwhelming because you are not home.
Again condolences on your little kitty! Have a safe trip home!

Aww so sorry about your kitty, and issues with your horse. I had one of those pretzels with cream cheese. They are sooooo good. Loved them. Hope the rest of your trip goes well.
