Here's my report from the members meeting on the cruise last week!

Some of this might be old news, but I haven't spent much time on the DVC boards lately since I was preparing to cruise. Here's what Dave had to say at the members meeting, and during a brief conversation at the DVC desk before dinner one night....

1. Within the next couple of months DVC members will get a 10% discount at disneyshopping.com. I asked if they would begin to sell DVC merchandise, and he said hopefully it will be coming, but he doesn't know when.

2. Starting in January, we should be able to bank points and check point balances online.

3. The next member cruise will be in Oct. next year. (a 4 day)

4. I tried to fish for info about future resorts. I mentioned the Contemporary rumors, he smiled and said that is a hot one. He also brought up the Animal Kingdom Lodge rumor. Said that it was seriously being considered. He also said that DVC is starting to become a standout at Disney with so many members. He said that Disney gave DVC a large amount of money to use for marketing, which has not happened before. He implied that DVC perks will continue to get better as DVC makes a name for itself within the company.
Since DVC is doing so well, they will be able to land more flagship resorts. He also mentioned growth off property, but didn't really get specific at what they were looking at.

5. He mentioned the point giveaway for America's funniest home videos. (He asked me not to mention it here, but since I've already seen it posted, I'm not responsible for letting the cat out of the bag! )

6. Trades to Atlantis are back on, and they assurred us it was here to stay this time.

We enjoyed the meeting, got lots of freebees, and even won a beach towel that is just too cute! We did not cruise on points, but rented our points to help pay for the cruise and it was well worth it!

I can't think of anything else, my brain is fried after a week of complete relaxation! Any questions, I'd be glad to answer!

Oops, I should have written it down. In private conversation Dave did say that the current Dining Plan was not going to be able to be used by DVC because (my understanding here) the DVC computer system and CRO computer system just cannot work together like that. He did say that DVC was planning to come up with their own dining plan. He didn't give anymore details than that. I of course thought to myself, "Yeah, but it won't be the deal that the regular Dining plan is!" Hopefully, I'll be wrong!

I take flagship resorts to mean more high end resorts and hotels to trade out to not on property resorts.

Thanks puffkin. She looks cute, but she is about to drive me over the edge. How long before she stops chewing up my house and jumping all over the kids? We start puppy training at Petsmart next week, and I'm hoping for a vast improvement! By the way, when that pic was taken she weighed around 6 pounds, she is up to 20 now, and she is just 4 months old.

Thanks for the report. I like being able to check the point balances online. Nothing like seeing it written down instead of verbally over the phone. So many places for error and it can be done 24/7!

Ahhhhh Rumors!!! I love them! It's sounding good for CRV and VAKL!! But lets not forget about DL too! Humm 'flagship resorts' could be high profile like CRV and DLV but I hope he means a very nice off site resort in like Hawaii or Colorado!!

Good luck. The chewing should stop around a year, but depending on the dog, could go on indefinitely. Just provide a wide variety of things for Lilo to chew on, each dog likes something different. Murphy will only chew Nylabones, he doesn't particularly care for anything rubber, plastic or rawhide. He never chewed anything up other than his stuff though, so we were lucky. We have never had a beagle that had very good manners They just get too excited and love to jump all over. Hopefully the obedience training will help, but none of our beagles really ever outgrew the jumping and playing. The only advice I have is to be consistent with your training, if you start to lax, they will be all over that. Also, try to keep her weight under control. Beagles plump up way too easily. They really shouldn't have ANY people food! It is so hard though, cause they are too cute!

Actually the cat and dog are best friends. Murphy just doesn't like the camera flash so he always looks away. I was holding him up there (can't see my hand) and he wouldn't look at the camera. The cat's eyes get all buggy when she sees the camera too. They just hate the flash. The picture does look funny though!

I just wanted to add to the rumor mill, last week I was on a Wishes cruise and our boat captain claimed it to be a definite for the Contemporary. The garden wing is going to be built as 7 stories!!! It would be nice views of the MK. I guess we'll see!!!!

Well that's interesting. The original rumors of SSR came from boat captains and Bus drivers in the DD area, and of course everyone here labeled them as "folks who didn't have a clue"! I guess only time will tell. The Contemporary really doesn't do a lot for me, but for some reason I really would like to see it happen. I don't think that I would buy points there, but the thought of actually getting to stay at a monorail resort does excite me!

Personally, I don't trust the boat captians.... I think they get bored and make things up. I have heard the "expansion of the monorail" rumor from them for YEARS and have we seen any evidence of that LOL! They seem to be source of lots of stuff and I am sure some of it's true, but at least some of it is just plain rumor with no basis in fact.
