Been waiting forever for the rates to get better i.e. Entertainment or AAA.

Taint happening so far for our dates February 15-18.

We had planned on buying the 5 day passed advertised on the US web site for $95. Actually I did buy three of them for the family (30 something wife and two boys ages 8 - 6). I bought an Annual pass for myself (the one without black out dates for $180 (85 dollars more)

With the extra $85 dollars for this ticket I am able to get free parking (saving $7 per day) and I am getting the room for $119 per day instead of the best rate I could find AAA at $210 per night.

We booked the flight for this trip back in March. Flying out of Chicago for $105pp round trip. God bless that travelzoo top 20 email I get every week :cool1: Did not take much thought to want to leave the Midwest in the dead of winter. I knew the rest of our plans would fall into place.

We are flying into St Pete late Sunday evening the 13th and staying our first two days at Embassy Vacation Resort in Orlando. We "won" two free nights for test driving a Dodge Durango a few months ago. ANyone know anything about this place. I have seen good and bad on tripadvisor.com

Just thought I would post this as a suggestion to others who may be getting frustrated waiting for Entertainment or better AAA rates.

I may still stay off site if I get a great off site hotel deal, however, I am glad I have this rate "locked in". And our ticket are in hand.

I am sure its on here somewhere, however, I have not been able to find it. Where is the nearest grocery store or Wally world, drug store etc from Universal.

Will buy our own throw away cooler for drinks and snacks.

Thanks

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the free parking with an annual pass is for the theme parks. The US on-site hotels will still hit you up for the $7 per day.

The RPR rate you have is pretty good. Enjoy your stay.

I read another post saying the hotels are offering free parking during the holiday season for AP holders. I don't think it carries over to February though.

You got an Ap rate? I thought AP rates weren't out yet for 2005. I'm looking for August dates.

AP rates have been out for a while for early 2005 but I haven't seen any for summer 2005.

What a scam on the parking. I read it was "free" with the AP did not know their was a caveat reference the hotel.
