Here now: Will fast passes resume this evening?

Contrary to what others above have stated, the temps in the first part of this week were 15-20 degrees below normal, prime weather for local park visiting in mid September, leading to higher than normal walk up crowds.
I'm curious how all these southern CA locals that flock to the park Monday -Friday when the temps are good in mid September with their families can afford it unless they are taking vacation like you are?

Bingo! The AP is a perfect excuse for a mental health day from school or work.

Exactly! They have jobs, kids in school, etc. Companies don't give days off when the weather is nice.

And it rained earlier this week. Locals do NOT usually go to Disneyland on rainy days.

It was only cool on Tuesday (the day it rained). It has NOT been "20 degrees below average" most of this week. That's just bull. Averages in September here are anywhere from 70's to low 80s. That is exactly what we had this week. The rain isn't outside of normal either. In fact, my Facebook gave me a "memory" from this week last year when our visit to the pool was cut short by a thunderstorm.

People are at Disneyland ALL THE TIME. Locals, out of townerst, international visitors, etc. It's crowded most of the time and Mondays and Fridays are the 2 most crowded park days, always. Nothing new there. People (even locals) take....wait for it...long weekend TRIPS to DLR. They stay in hotels and everything, just like the out of towners. Shocking, I know.

Disneyland is popular. Expect crowds.

Time for you to put your big girl pants on and deal with it.
Locals are going to go to DL whether you like it or not, you are not more important than the locals are or the AP holders.
AP Days are what is getting people to go to the parks AFTER school and work. Who do you think Disneyland caters to with AP days? Disneyland has always catered to AP holders, when I was at WDW a CM who has worked both at DL and WDW said that one park caters to locals (as it should) and the other does not because WDW is basically like a city.

I basically said the same thing in my last post. If not for the AP's Disneyland would likely be in a world of hurt. The part that has always irked me is that those "people in the middle can flip a coin" tend to always go to Disneyworld. I always thought Disney did a poor job of makerting Disneyland to anyone east of the Rockies. Don't believe me, just watch the post Super Bowl commercials in any major Texas city or other metropolis in the Midwest and you will likely hear the "I am going to Disneyworld" tag line.

The cost of doing business is far less in FL than in CA, so they will always push those in the middle to FL. The biggest issue I have is the high propensity of AP's will always lead to much more unpredictability in crowds at DL versus DW. Contrary to what others above have stated, the temps in the first part of this week were 15-20 degrees below normal, prime weather for local park visiting in mid September, leading to higher than normal walk up crowds.
If you don't like the way you think Disney markets Disneyland or you don't think you can predict crowds, don't go to Disneyland. Vote with your wallet.

Hi everyone,

Let's try to keep the snark off these threads. There are other forums that are more suited for not-so-polite responses. Here, we encourage everyone to be more helpful to each other.

I did that this weekend! I'm local but my best friend and I have had a Disneyland weekend planned for this weekend for months. We got a hotel and everything. It's been lovely.

I'm not sure where you are from, but taking off a "mental health day" costs. Unless you work for a major company, you take a day off, often it is without pay or it will cost you one of your 3 sick days allotted by the state. Even if 5-10 people took a mental health day, they would not be effecting your visit, and I can almost guarantee 4000-5000 people aren't taking a mental health day each day during your visit.
