Here now-wasted FP+ for TOT

Had FP+ for TOT today, starting 11:20 am. Arrived at 11:30 to find standby line closed, fast pass only & a line, 2-3 people wide, that started around the corner by Beauty/Beast FP entrance. Not much of a fast pass. We cancelled & moved on.

Some times this happens but when they close the stand by line the fast pass line dose move fast

We've had that happen before but were in the standby line. It took us an hour to get from inside the lobby into the room where you watch the movie because they were filling both rooms and only allowing one standby group per room. One of the elevators was not working. The CM's seemed stressed. It was annoying but honestly I would have been more frustrated being in the fastpass line with it being that long. They were really moving them through quickly though.

I've experienced that. It happens when one of the two drop towers goes down, which instantly lowers capacity by half. Happened to me in December, and I had hopped to DHS specifically for my ToT FP and single-rider on RnR. I've read complaints of it happening since then, as well. I wonder if there's a maintenance issue going on?

The worst I've seen it was TSMM when it was down for half the day and when it reopened had a 2 hour fastpass line that never got short enough to reopen standby.. The issue is everyone gets a fastpass that was waiting in line a long time when a ride breaks, on top of everyone that had a fp that turns into a use anytime during the day..

They close standby to get everyone with a fastpass through quick. and does fall into the technicality that it was faster than a standby line since nobody could standby so they had to waiting and hope it reopened even longer.

I hate it personally.

Sorry that happened to you I feel your pain. TOT is my favorite ride and we went to DCA specifically to ride it before the west coast version closed forever. Due to technical issues we stood within view of the elevator doors and then moved three times back and forth between elevators as the poor CMs tried to manage the lines with technical issues. It took about two hours in line to get in an elevator. I'm hoping for a smoother experience in March when we visit Orlando.
