Here now - Sheraton Vistana Resort :)

We got in last night. We came over to the Vistana and had a very quick and easy check-in. We are in the Fountains, and it's gorgeous! The view from our patio is just absolutely beautiful! Water, fountain, heron, ducks... trees, etc.. And it's QUIET!

We aren't going to the parks today due to the crowd levels (and we'll here until the 5th). We're headed to breakfast and then back to enjoy the pools in the 85 degree sunny weather!

All of this while our hometown is getting 15" of snow today. My son said yesterday "this may be the best day of my life so far!". What wonderful words to hear after a day of travel

Just wanted to share... I'll be able to answer questions about the Vistana later tonight if anyone has some.

Hi O2B,

We'll be down in 2 weeks, and I'd really like to know where the renovations really are at. The Courts section was announced as starting in February, and that's where our unit is. Vistana has been behind schedule all along however, so I'm skeptical that they will have started just yet.

If you take a walk over to the other side of the resort, let me know where the construction trailers are. My worst case scenario is that they are working beside our unit while we're there (we are in 58) and the trailer is parked in our front or back yard...

BTW - it's worth a walk to the other side to check out the amenities over there - tennis, mini-putt, grocery, Starbucks, and 5 more swimming pools!

Enjoy your trip! It's a mess today out there today! I'm a little North of you in Millbury, getting ready to start on the shoveling! We stayed at Vistana last year and really enjoyed it.

We have stayed across the street at Grand Beach a few times, and will be there again in 2 weeks...we've gotten takeout at Bennigan's and it was very good...but I know nationally, most have closed...any idea if the one up the street is still open? There is an Uno Pizzeria up 535 at The Crossroads...we always get takeout from there also...hits the spot after a day at the parks !!

Lucky you !! I've stayed there 6 or 7 times in the past...never had anything but a fabulous time :-D Will be there May 15 through 24. Wondering about transport to MK. I have never used it in the past but am considering it for some in our party. What time is the earliest shuttle to MK and what time is the last one back to the resort?? Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy !

I can answer that one for you. Unless things have changed in the past year, no. We had to buy a 200 pack at the local Publix, and now we take them back with us 20 at a time. Standard basket type filters.

Hi, we will be there the day before easter for a week. I was wondering if you could post their weekly schedule. I know some events will be different, but I would like to get an idea of what the resort has to offer such as movie nights and kids activities. My 7 yr old loves doing crafts!

I asked about BBQ's when I called them recently. I was told they do have them throughout the resort. I don't know where or how many though.

Thats great. Thankyou. The BBQ's seal the deal for us I think. The resort looks great and I love the idea of coming back after a day at the parks and having a relaxing BBQ dinner.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom in the Lakes Building on the 3rd Floor (1597, I think?) last week for the last 2 nights of our trip after we checked out of Disney property....it was a BEAUTIFUL resort and DH vows that we will never pay to stay on property again!! Unless we have a big need for the dining plan, I am inclined top agree, it was clean, HUGE, well-stocked and the beds were so comfortable!

So glad to read this! We are staying there in a couple weeks and I just put in our Diamond Lane request for the Lakes building. I had a hard time deciding which building we'd like, but it sounds like the Lakes is a little more secluded, plus I wanted an elevator. How is the pool in that section? We have 3 small children and I thought I had read that it is zero entry. Also, do we provide our own hand soap & dishwasher soap? Thanks!!!

My question is about the pools - can kids wear their own life jackets in them? Are there any pool toys to play with like noodles or balls?

We are in the Cascades section, is the pool near there zero entry?

And lastly, do they provide any laundry detergent at all or should I bring enough for the entire stay?
