i'm here now and besides the rainy weather, I've noticed that on just about every ride we've been on, that they have all stopped during the ride and then start up again sometimes 2 or 3 times during the ride. First year this is happy so much.
I did notice something similar this weekend though. We just got back yesterday and a lot of rides were stopping. But who knows what it's from? Wheelchair, umbrellas, mechanical breakdown??
I noticed it on our trip last week too. The stop/starts during rides like Buzz/Little Mermaid I chalked up to people needing extra time to get in/out.
But I also noticed it on rides like Triceratops Spin, Kali, and Magic Carpets. We were there waiting right after RD and they were both having mechanical problems that required a technician or someone else to be called to fix or reset something. I know it happens, but it seemed to happen more than I remembered.
This happened a ton to us on our trip last month. It wasn't just loading time delays, it was 5-10 minutes each. The only good thing was it was surface of the sun hot and one of our delays positioned us directly under a hard blowing AC vent on Little Mermaid. It was glorious! That's the kind of Frozen I can dig at WDW.
Yes who knows, just noticed it happening a lot more than usual and thought I'd mention it. Also the crowds seem much larger than our previous 3 trips during this same time of year. But surprisingly not really long ride waits at all! Go figure...

Mission Mars..our vehicle had to be cleaned out because some numbnut thought bringing a cup of coffee inside was a smart idea.. as a result our ride had to be reset twice
Soarin': little girl about 5 spent the ENTIRE time in line crying how she didn't want to ride. Mom forced her to anyway, and went so far as to try and manhandle the poor kid into the seat.. you know how they get all floppy when they REALLY have a meltdown? the CM had to intervene and held everything up( the exit doors had already been closed)
HM: I was in the HA line with someone who needed the beltway stopped so it was stopped when he got on and again when he got off.
I personally caused a wait at IASW since that is one ride I cannot transfer for and it takes a bit to manhandle a chair. I also caused a wait at Jungle cruise. (same reason, boat is too low for me to transfer to)
I'm pretty sure the reason the rides keep stopping is due to the magic bands getting caught on things as people are entering the ride vehicle. If it wasn't for FP+ people wouldn't need magic bands!!

My son dropped his MB on TSM. The CMs searched every vehicle as they came back around to find it, I'm sure ruining many vacations in the process. But at least we got it back. Pixie dust, y'all!
