Hmmm...two sides to every coin.
Three sides to the coin if you count the edge...

Both groups need to be aware of and take into consideration the limitations of the other.

Amen!!! So sick and tired of this disgusting entitlement mentality. Dad should have been responsible for his own child. I would have spoken up as well.

Woo Hoo! :drinking1 Kungaloosh!

Awesome. "Entitlement." (To quote a famous movie swordsman, "I don't think that word means what you think it means.")

I'm happy to see that the mere suggestion that a father might have gotten defensive if a stranger screamed at his mentally disabled (or simply confused) child was met with such anger and disdain. (I pretty much said it just to let the b***h brigade have an excuse to tell everybody off.)

Gosh, I hope none of your kids ever accidentally runs into me when not looking or touches my food tray thinking it is his while at Disney! Cause now I know I can let the little bugger have it with both barrels and you'll stand there and be just fine with it! Whee!

It was a child who should have been supervised who took food off of someone's tray. That is gross. If dad was concerned about the child he should have been watching the child.

If my kids or grand kids put their grimy fingers in your food you have my permission to holler at them.

Not to hijack the OP's thread, but curious what you didn't like about the dessert party-? Booked our first time there for our July trip. Have read so many favorable & repeat reviews I'd like to hear your experience. Thanks!

No problem. Our table was fine, a great view of the fireworks. Here is what I did not like:
- it was unorganized and in need of crowd control by the CMs
- We had to wait in line so everyone went in at the same time which meant everyone headed to the desserts at the same time, another line
- it was a free for all with people taking four plates of desserts
- they ran out of silverware and bowls
- they refilled the trays but not for long, you basically got one shot at the line before most of the food ran out
- it well like a free for all at feeding time.
- I think people were trying to get their money's worth

It was a good concept and something different to do but it would have been better if they staggered the people coming in kept the food there throughout the party and not for only 15 minutes or so. No one was directing people at the buffet and it seemed like the CMs did not know what they were doing. I think they should get rid of the ice cream area as it was congesting the lines.

Did you read what the OP said happened? It wasn't an accident.. the kid grabbed a french fry off their tray after he helped himself to their ketchup.. and then he smiled like he knew what he was doing but, thought it was oh so cute.

Besides.. how do we even know this was a special needs child.. I don't think the OP said it was.. but, someone jumped in to assume this was the case.
For all we know it was just an every day kid who thought it was hilarious to mess with someone else's food.

You also assumed the OP screamed at this kid... a huge assumption.

I wouldn't have said a word to the boy, I would have just went and got a manager of the restaurant and explained what happened. You have to be careful with some parents, they refuse to see that their children do anything wrong and a nasty confrontation could ensue. I had a bad experience with a parent of a boy who was bullying my son viciously at school.. instead of being reasonable he made excuses for his son and got angry with me for approaching him about it. Lesson learned.

Not sure if this was your kid or if you are just mental. I never said I yelled at the kid and furthermore, there is no proof he has special needs. The kid helped himself to food on our tray after putting his fingers directly in the condiments out for everybody. Perhaps, they are simply dirty people who don't care. They just might be like uncle Eddie from lampoons vacation....there are real people like that ya know.

I am shocked and amazed at the number of people here with newborns in this Florida heat and sun with no hats and skin barely covered. Several of these babies I have seen are sunburned. :(

We just got back and saw a lot of this!! :sad2: Quite a few babies were red with sunburn.
