We arrived at AKL about 10am on Sunday. Our room wasnt ready so we headed over to AK. The crowds very fairly light for a Sunday we thought.

The longest ride wait we saw was 20 mins for Expedition Everest. The Safari was a walk on at 3pm and Dinosaur was also a near walk on after lunch. Then we did EE on fast pass later in the day, the walk on time was still roughly 20 mins.

We then got settled into our room, got some dinner and then headed over to MK for EMH. We got there just as Dreams was finishing, perfect timing! We headed to the left and did Pirates (walk on) and then to the back for Splash and BTMRR. Splash was 5 mins or less, we did that a few times. The time for BTMRR said 20 mins, I dont think it took that long. We did a walk on at Haunted Mansion and then back to BTMRR for one last trip. Headed back to our room about midnight.

We really wanted to hit rope drop at DHS, but with us staying up late that just wasnt going to happen. We got there about 10:15a and it certainly does pay to get there earlier for TSM. We got fast passes for TSM for 1:40pm. We headed over to the Great Movie ride, then to ToT (basically a walk on) and then over to RnR (single rider line) which was a walk on. Regular wait time for RnR was 20 mins. Did those a few times and then rode the Backlot tour. The wait for TSM was 40 mins at this time. We got some lunch, did Muppets and then over to TSM with our fast passes. Walk on time was 50 mins, but the line didnt seem to be that long.

I thought DHS was more crowded than I anticipated it to be. TSM will always have a line and I guess that isnt a good gauge. Most everything else was a near walk on. I anticipate the headliners (TT, Soarin etc..) to have a decent wait and most everything else to be pretty low waiting times.

This is day 1 and 2 of a 6 day trip. i will update daily.

Jeff

All these reports of wait times make me want to be there right now instead of having to wait till Christmas week. I expect we'll wait, oh probably, 15 minutes for ToT, Soarin', etc. :rotfl::rotfl:

Sounds like you're having a great time!

Thanks for the updates, we leave for AKL Nov 5th, can you tell me if the rooms are clean and neat and new looking??? and tell me how you are enjoying your room, I wanted the Wilderness Lodge for this trip but was out voted by DH and DS lol who love love the AKL. :lmao:

Thanks Jeff, I just read your thread about your room and it sounds great and your Mara dinner sounded yummy!!! this makes me feel better about staying there, I will keep reading and enjoying your updates

Day 3 update...

Although the day is not over, we are done with the parks for the day. I have to pick up DS 18 from the airport later so we are just chilling at AKV until then.

We made rope drop for MK today. For our family, this is no small feat as we are all sleepers. It was a little piece of heaven. DW was our FP runner for BTMRR, but we really didnt need it. We rode it twice in a row, then Splash twice and that was all before 9:45am. When we left the line was still a near walk on at both rides. We headed towards Buzz and made a few stops on the way, Pooh Ride, Indy cars... both were walk ons. Buzz was a walk on and we did that about 5 times in a row without anything longer than a 5 min wait (at most).

Then we went and rode the blue line, people mover. I wanted to see if we could see anything on the Space Mountain rehab. Boy am I glad we did that. All the lights were on and you could see nearly everything inside. (I will post pictures in a seperate thread in a bit). You could see the launching area that you go up in the beginning and you could see that most if not all of hte track was in place up top. once you got past this part you have to be quick, but if you look backwards you can see the top of the ride and all the track. In fact, I saw a car on the track moving this morning. it didnt appear to be going full speed. Maybe they were just checking it for smoothness or something, but it was on the track and moving. They still have alot of work to do on the inside, but it is encouraging. Then as the people mover turns, if you stand (not advised however) and reach up with your camera, you can take pictures over the wall. Again, I was moving and didnt have a great camera, but they are pictures. Will post in a seperate thread. We rode it again so I could get more pictures, then did Buzz and Laugh Floor before lunch.

We had ressies at the Plaza at 1pm, yum, I like the Cheese steak sandwich there. We headed back to the back of the park and did BTMRR twice more and Splash once more, now about 2:15pm. Splash was a 5 minute wait and we had FP for BTMRR, but the standy by line was 10 mins.

We took the train back to the front and then headed back to AK to swim for a bit before dinner.

more to come... we head to DHS and Epcot tomorrow.

Thanks for your updates (and disclaimer ;) ).

Sounds like you are having a great time...keep it coming! We leave in just over a month.

Sounds nice. I am supposed to be there now but had to postpone to Jan.. Have fun.

I'm going to move this over to our trip report board.

Day 4....

Nothing like planning your trip for some record October heat in Florida right? Man, it was hot today.

We headed over to DHS this morning. Planned on rope drop and forgot to turn alarm on, oh well. Got there about 9:45a and things werent too bad. We headed over to TSM and got some fast passes. Walk on said 30 mins, so we said why not. It was 20 mins tops, we couldnt believe it, but certainly enjoyed it. After that we headed down to RnR and ToT for a few trips on each of those. Stand by times were 20 mins for ToT, but it was a near walk on and RnR we did single rider line, 30 mins was the standby wait. Headed over to Sci Fi for our great lunch. Family tradition to hit Sci Fi for some burgers and shakes during our trip. YUM YUM.

We hit the Great Movie ride right after lunch since it wasnt FP time for TSM yet. We actually got the western part of the show rather than the gangster side. DW swears we never got that side before. We headed over to TSM for our fast passes and the stand by line said 50 mins, but there was barely anyone inside. We headed right back to the stand by line (which said 70) but was 20, maybe 25, at the most. Man, we love that ride. For the record, I have yet to be beat by any of our family members.

Headed over to RnR for one last ride before we headed back to AKV for some swimming and to meet up with MIL who was meeting us for a day.

Heading to Epcot tonight for Illuminations and then maybe grab a few rides with EMH, even though it is not recommended.
