Here now - MK is packed

Today is our last day and MK is packed. It's a recommended day here. If this is a low crowded week I can't even imagine what summer is going to look like.

And yes I know all the jokes about how it "feels crowded" and another person could come on here and completely have the opposite experience but 60 minutes for pirates and 35 for haunted mansion is ridiculous when those rides were always 20 minutes or less. I have to believe its a result of fp+.

:confused3 How, please explain.

It is a result of the number of people in the parks.

Because neither Haunted Mansion nor Pirates had FP until FP+ was introduced.

If you introduce a FP line, the stand by line becomes slower and therefore longer. Explained?

Sorry, you just don't get it. FP+ did not make the lines longer, the number of people did. The standby line should be shorter, if everybody is waiting in those long FP+ line.:lmao:

i was there today as well, and it was crazy crowded. a cm was telling people in the 50 minute haunted mansion line that there are schools off today through tuesday, and they are completely understaffed for the mayhem. Also the problem is that it was 50 degrees and rainy for the last 2 days, and today was absolutely beautiful, 70 and not a cloud in the sky. Everyone decided to go to MK today insted of the previous few days probably with the TERRIBLE weather.

Looks like everyone just decided to go to Magic Kingdom today for some reason. The other parks wait times don't look bad at all.

I wonder if they will change the way they are running the POTC line if it continues to be an issue. I can see this becoming a huge problem especially since people are not use to using a fast pass for it. The stand by line will be a nightmare during busier times plus it really upsets how it use flow so nicely using both sides. this might turn into a fast + priority in the near future.:crazy2:

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking today was crazy busy. We come this week every year and today was the busiest we have seen MK. The FP lines were not crazy.

This was even an issue back in Sept. just during testing. We were there and participating in the testing, and POTC specifically was a longer line/wait than we had ever experienced before and this wasn't just 1 wrong time/day; it was 3 different days each time we rode/walked by. This was the week after Labor Day, so I can't imagine what it would be like at a busy time.

its completely because of the weather. nobody left their hotel either wednesday or thursday.

I am here today in MK as well and I am surprised at how crowded it is. It was supposed to be a 4 today. I've been before on a 4 day and here is the difference I see. The amount if people in the walk ways, lines seems only slightly more, but the standby lines are crazy. Jungle Cruise was recently at 105 min!!! Mickeys Philharmagic was so packed they were filing people in through both the standby and fastpass lines. I'm really hoping that the park clears out after the shows! We've basically done no big rides. We are offsite, so we had to book FP after park entrance and did not make it in til 12:00 so our FPs were for this evening. Basically we've done a lot of milling around, all the attractions like Tiki Room and Monsters inc. and if course looking in stores.

We'll be there late April/early May when the predicted crowds are around 4-5. Be interested to see if crowds are still a problem.

I hope everyone got the Magic Kingdom out of their systems today because I'll be there tomorrow.

I'm curious. For those of you at the MK today, if Disney had texted you a message offering an tier 1 FP at DHS or Epcot, would you have taken them up on the deal?

The Associated Press had an article two days ago about people begging their travel agents to find them vacations in warm weather on short notice. I wouldn't doubt if there are some 3-day weekenders happening right now. I would ;)

That would actually be a really smart way to handle overcrowding at the
parks. :scratchin:

I went this weekend last year. I arrived on Sunday and POTC was lined up in the courtyard, first time I had ever saw that. Park was very crowded. Before FP+ existed.
