We have been here all week. Crowds at all parks were great - very little wait for all rides (some walk on) except headliners and those weren't too bad either except for minetrain. Wait times on app way different (more than) than what was actually posted on the actual ride.
Went to Mk today with the plan to do fast passes then leave for some pool/sun time. Arrived @ 9:15 & took train to Splash. Splash had a 5 minute wait so we rode once then used our fast pass. When we got off @10 the wait had gone to 30 minutes. Hopped the train to 7dwarfs. Wait was over 2 hours! Used fast pass & headed to Main Street to shop. It was like swimming upstream. I stood on Main Street for @ 10 minutes and watched the masses stream in. Left the park by 12:30 and people were swarming in. I had never seen it like that before as we usually come end of April/early May.
I know people say don't go to MK on a Saturday and they are absolutely right. Add in crowds leading up to Christmas - yikes! Glad for sunny weather & pool time.
Anyone know what the crowd level is today?

I don't think anyones scale really handles the upper part of crowded. It was considered an 8/9 when you felt it wasn't crowded so this is just a hard 9 to there ratings. they are outdated and not really granular enough in my mind.

Yeah, even during my trip 2 weeks ago (pretty quiet), the crowds on Saturday REALLY jumped by 10:30am. Luckily I arrived at 8:30am and knocked out a ton of stuff in that time, but man, once 10:30am hits everyone swoops in. Saturday afternoon is NOT the time for MK.

....and it's the week before Christmas. Just assume a mass of humanity will surround you, and you won't be disappointed. :jumping1:

Same thing with DL. The place is mobbed even during the so called "slow periods" The economy must be booming and people have money to spend.

we were supposed to be there this week. we had to cancel (again! but i will not admit defeat and will try again for *next* december).

i specifically had planned saturday to NOT be a MK day because sat at MK i found our first trip was the crazy busiest of all parks/all days. today would have been chill out at the yacht club, enjoying sunken treasures by storm-along-bay. sigh.

instead, i am here and we got 10 cm of snow and more coming! lol!

glad you guys were able to get some things you wanted in though!

We were there this morning. We went to EMH at 7:00. We had a great time. We got so much done before our fast passes started at 9:25. Then we did our fast passes and had a great lunch at the plaza at 11:00. When we left the crowds were crazy but we had such a good time in the morning. Just get there early (like no one has ever heard that before right ) .

We left at 3. The crowds were still building after looking at the sheer number of people who were still coming through the tapstiles. We are usually gone before the Christmas crowds decended. We have the Highway in the Sky tonight and I dont know if we are going to go back after Wishes.

We just came back. We were there from the 10th to the 16th. We were at MK on a Sunday and a Wed. I thought it was very crowded however Sun. Was a party day so we scheduled a breakfast before park opening and we were able to ride about 8 main attractions before it started to get insane! Wednesday was packed from morning to night. I have to say I lost some of my Disney magic this trip.

We just left today too. We thought crowds at the beginning of our trip (12/11) were pretty manageable, but got more crazy over the last couple of days. Really glad we planned resort relax times into our afternoons! We did MK on party-days on purpose, and felt that helped with crowds! We did hop back to MK last night for ADR at CRT and it was INSANELY packed!! For our first December trip, we didn't think it was too bad, though, and we are used to the "slow times" in Sept.

We were at Magic Kingdom (not my choice of park) last Saturday and it was crazy.
Even the carousel was almost an hour wait. We went to ride the mine train early with the sign saying it was 50 minute wait. It ended up being 2 hours! It was not a very fun day.
We tried to leave after the castle lighting. But so many people were also trying to get in. We got stuck at the top of main street and literally didn't move for 20 minutes in a mob of people. It was scary.

It's because of MVMCP shutting people out of MK on Friday and Sunday nights this time of year. Saturday becomes the only weekend day you can stay in MK until midnight without a party ticket.

I am NEVER doing MK on a non-party day during MNSSHP time or MVMCP time ever again. We made that mistake in early December and it was a zoo. A 30 min wait for the TTA....THE T...T...A. We managed to have a bit of fun because we can have a blast anytime anywhere at Disney but it was "wandering around" fun. The crowds were worse than any summer day, Spring Break or even the one time we went at Easter.

The last day of my October 22 to 29 trip was a Saturday and I've never seen it so crowded. There was someone directing traffic in the walkway between Peter Pan and Small World. Columbia Harbor House was wall to wall people in the order lines. Was actually glad to get out of there and go home (well, maybe....).

I was there for a half day trip today (seasonal pass blackout starts Monday, so last chance to see castle lighting) and I was bracing myself for the worst. the crowds were huge, but not the worst I've seen (we were accidentally there when the Christmas parade was taping. Yow-ZA) we did the things we had FPs for, wandered around and people watched, watched castle lighting from one of the old FP areas, hit some Main Street shops and headed out.
Frankly, the monorail back to poly for dinner was the worst part of the day.

Holy cow yes! The wait for the ferry...it took an hour from the time we exited the park, until we docked on the other side of the lagoon. The monorail line was worse. In hindsight we should have walked to the contemporary and gotten a cab to the TTC.

as I was fending off a panic attack from being CRAMMED into a monorail car (those last three people, who CLEARLY did not fit, who stuffed themselves into our car anyway. . .i curse the remainder of your vacation. May all your waiters be slow, your meal tables be next to screaming melting down toddlers and all your fastpasses be for attractions that have just gone down) I began to seriously regret not taking the ferry to the TTC and just walk to poly.
Closing the last two cars of the resort monorail was also not helping matters.
