Hi all, we're down at the World right now. It's been a week since check in, got 2 left. While I've got very limited time I can spent on the "fun stuff", I am noticing a big difference with my other trips. Who knows if it's coincidence or not, but it's pretty obvious to us.

- increase of ECV's, strollers and free wheelchair usage at certain parks. The latter seem to be used more as strollers, I might be jumping to conclusion but never seen relatively so many wheelchairs with 2 or 3 toddlers in them before. :confused3 Not thát much, maybe 3 or 4 a day, but it is more than I'm used to seeing and I'm spending less hours out and about.

- more folks with the lets-jump-on-the-bus-with-them-syndrom. You know the ones; that want to tag along with a wheelchair party, that simply use the back door while the driver is loading your chair etc. I'm a vocal kinda girl ;) and tell the driver who is and isn't part of our party and kindly explain to others they can not use the backdoor (let's always assume they're making an honest mistake), but I tend to get a lot of stares, folks hearing me, understanding what I'm saying, and still going their own merry little way. This also is the trip I've seen drivers being on top of this more then ever. Guess it's needed.

- We're staying at SSR. Probably just luck, but there are 4 wheelchair/ecv parties in our section (congres park), haven't seen any yet in the others. As said; probably a weird kinda luck and me seeing very little to begin with as I'm not out that much.

- walking to DTD is SO easy for all the added shopping, eating and transportation options. Moms not sure if she likes it (walking after all), but for me it's just pushing a joystick and I'm there within no time. Loving it!

- when in a pickle with a mobility aid; Florida Mobility is the way to go. Don't even get me started :rotfl: but after all my preps, experience and airline going above and beyond, somehow a part of my chair STILL got damaged. Pretty difficult part to get hold off. Esp. the manufacturer of my chair (which has a branch in the US) was of NO help. They basically had a "no can not do"-additude, combined with "I don't care she needs the part asap, our policy is such and such and thus you won't have it untill about 4 days from now". Manufacturer of the part needed didn't want to supply at first, having contracts with manufacturer of the chair stating they HAVE to supply through chairs manufacturer. The owner of Florida Mobility has spend lots of time making unbelievably many and long calls. But in the end? Friday at around 4 pm he got what we wanted and needed; the needed part shipped out. On Saterday at 1 pm I was able to use the powerchair again. All because he DID NOT accept no for an answer or long delivery times. We had a backup spare part in my home country which was about to be flown out, but that wouldn't have gotten here until saterday evening. Big thumbs up for Florida Mobility :thumbsup

- used Lynx for a couple of things; very easy from SSR (buststop right across the road from EoS), great on accessibility with powerchair or manual chair. Not sure about ECV.

PS; not being impolite if I don't respond. ;) Just my internet ending in a couple of hours and not wanting to respend the expensive WDW-fee.

I agree about Florida Mobility. They are the ones I bought both my current ECV and the lift from. They really seem to go out of their way to assist customers, and Alan, who does most of the repairs, is very much an expert as well as easy to deal with.

just going to respond to the increased use of ECV at this time.

IMO it is because we have an aging population. this has been discussed on cnn on many occasions. with aging comes immobility issues.

two years ago i could walk but now i can hardly walk 4 ft.
