Here now--Happy New Year!

How is it? Crowded? We are considering going at this time next year (Jan 1-8). Our kids will have a 3 week winter break.

We arrived on Friday night, 12/30. It was very crowded yesterday, and people we met have said it's been extremely crowded this past week. We will be here until Saturday, and we're hoping it will thin out after today.

I'll be interested to hear how the crowds are this coming week.

I do not want to visit Aulani during a crowded week.

It is crazy crowded. The pools are insane.

Oh no...I figured since Aulani's rate calendar starting Jan 1 is "value season", it wouldn't be crowded.

Guess we will find an alternate vacation spot for next year. I can't handle overcrowded pool areas on vacation.

We didn't watch fireworks. Midnight was a bit too late for these jet lagged travelers! :)

We just left Aulani, during our trip Dec 17 - Dec 30, the resort was 95-100% sold out. We never had an issue with too many people though. It was great. Maybe the days we went snorkeling off site the people stayed and the days we stayed at Aulani, they left? We were always up and down at the beach by 8am also, so never a problem getting 4 chairs next to each other. Water was really cold for the first 5 mins each day, but you quickly get used to it.

Here now too, arrived Tuesday, leaving Tuesday. Doesn't feel crowded at all. Found chairs at the lagoon each day we've been here and not out seeing the island. We've walked up to Ama Ama each morning for breakfast and it hasn't been crowded, but we arrived each time close to last call for breakfast, so earlier breakfast hours may need a reservation. Last night's luau was great! Good food, a nice show (not as Disney-centric as I was expecting)...a great way to end the year. The fireworks were awesome. The kids pools seem crowded, but not too bad. The lagoon water is cold, but you do get used to it. The adult pool is warmer. :) Enjoy your trip!
