Hi Jane!
I'm from Fairless Hills, too!
We'll be in Disney the last week in August. How are the crowds? And how has the weather been for you?
I hope you have an amazing final night!!
Look forward to your trip report!
Hi Kerry!!!
First of all, just in case this has significance - my DD11 is going into 6th grade at Emerson.
Anyway - we did have a wonderful trip!! And the last night we went to Whispering Canyon for dinner and had the funniest night of our whole trip! I don't know if you've been there, but they really have fun and play with you. First, their drinks come in mason jars, but if you ask for a second one, they bring it to you in a giant mason jar (that no one could ever finish). Well, my DH and DD had already gotten one of these, so then my DS13 REALLY wanted one!! The waitress comes over with his Sprite in the tiniest pewter BBQ sauce server (about 1-1/2") with a giant 2 foot long straw, and walks away with a straight face!! We actually asked for it as a souvenier, and they put my DS in "Canyon Jail" - but they did let us take it home! Funny stuff.
My trip report is posted, under BWI 7-7- thru 7-14, but it was pretty much about the hotel itself. I guess I should enter another post about the parks and such. The weather was hot, but the same as home actually, so no big deal. The crowds were bad, but we are early risers, so we always get to parks at opening. IMO you really have to do that to get things done. We seem to have a plan of attack, if you will, of what we really must see, must fast pass, etc., and then we can slow the pace to enjoy the atmoshpere and little stuff, as the heat and the crowds increase. We usually do well enough that we can leave to go swim at the hotel early afternoon, eat, relax for a bit, and go back for shows and fireworks at night after the crowds and temps drecrease a bit. My DH uses reverse, reverse physcology on Early Magic Hours and Extra Evening hours - where we avoid that park, but be there at opening the day after the park's Late hours. (I hope I explained that right). It sounds wierd, but it truly seems to work out great in the morning - no crowds at all!
I'll try to post a new trip report on the parks, soon. Off to work now. Hope to hear from you soon, neighbor! Bye, Jane
