Here now and no towel animals!

Really, I think that that price point you SHOULD expect that kind of service or treatment. A standard room in low season is like 385/night ...

We don't do deluxe, but I think you are totally justified to be disappointed. I wouldn't even hesitate to mention it to the front desk. Maybe not all demanding like, but really, just say you were/are disappointed.

Seriously? As has been pointed out, not every housekeeper knows how to make them, plus they may not have time to. They're only intended to be a little surprise, not something to be expected.

Honestly, if you are paying for Board Walk, or any deluxe, they should bring REAL animals into your room, let alone do towel animals.

Hope you trip is, otherwise or despite that lack, awesome !

You are not paying for towel animals. You are paying for what is listed on the website... which "towel animals" are not. If you think deluxes are too expensive, then don't stay there. But never expect more at a hotel then what they tell you they offer. That is just silly.

Better luck next time.

Sometimes when I go into my local doughnut shop for a dozen the girl behind the counter will hand me a couple doughnut holes.

Sometimes when I'm at the sports bar the bartender will buy me a beer.

I rented U-Haul last week and the guy threw in a bag of furniture pads free.

These are all just unexpected niceties, like a towel animal.

During our stay at the WL (Club level) we received towel animals and a snowman every day of our stay...Admit to taking two of them home!

I have stayed 11 nights and 9 nights at ASMu in a family suite and during both of those trips we only got one towel animal. I think it was a Swan or a DUck, not sure.

But to go to the front desk and express disappointment that you paid big bucks for a deluxe room and didn't get towel animals is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. That REEKS of entitlement. NOwhere on any website does Disney offer towel animals as an amenity.

Are you serious? We have been staying at the BW for at least 10 years, making 2 to 3 trips a year. We stay Club Level and have gotten maybe 8 towel animals. We have never expected them and thought they were cute. It is more important to me to have a clean room than to have the animals. We have been lucky enough to have the best mouse keeper, Patsy, every time. Her not leaving towel animals means nothing to me. She always takes such good care of us and that is all I ask. Even my grandchildren do not expect these cute creations. They are just happy to be at Disney!

We've had something most days this trip, but nothing at all on our last trip.

Yes, Oh My God, I am serious.

If you are paying 400 a night for a hotel room, I think the service should be beyond ordinary, or sufficient, which it seems some of you are shocked about.

"Are you serious"??? lol

When we go and stay in Niagara, and pay for an upper level fallsview room, it doesn't SAY on the room listing that I will be valet parked, nor that a bellhop is going to take my bags up to my room, but if I am paying $500 a night for the room, yur damn right I expect it.

When I take my car the dealership to have work done on it (and my dealer charges significantly more then local shops), it doesn't say that they will wash my car for me if I leave it with for the day, or that they will do -more- then the local shops and go above the line, but do I expect it, yes.

Disney isn't just about the park or about the food, or about the rooms, its also about the service. Its about making things magical. Hell, thats their fricken brand. Do I want sufficient cleaning service ? No, I want magical cleaning service. If everything at disney was the same as not disney, what would be the point of paying for the disney experience. Let alone paying for the deluxe disney experience.

There are all sorts of things that aren't "listed" on a purchase description that people expect when they go to higher end restaurants, retail outlets, and yes, resorts.

Maybe some of you are right, maybe their "mousekeeper" doesn't know how to make them, or maybe she doesn't have time.

At a resort where they are charging as much as they do at Deluxes, they can afford to a) train their people on how to make the animals, its not her fault if she hasen't been taught, b) make sure they hire enough people that they have enough time to do the little extras.

Hey, thats just my opinion. Maybe I expect a lot, but, I talk with my money. I stay at places, go to places, and do things that I think are worth the value, in experience and in service. I am a regular at several restaurants, around where will, I get amazing service, because I expect it, and I tip very very well. Maybe its because I used to work service, and I know how they feel, I know how hard they work, but I also know when they are cutting corners or aren't really putting in the effort.

So yea, I think at 400/night, you can expect more then sufficient, you should expect extra touches, like towel animals.

I don't think you are familiar with the term Disney uses for "deluxe" vs what every other hotel chain in the world uses for "Deluxe."

All the word deluxe means to Disney is that you are getting a. (arguably), resort with a slightly better location.

Oh I am fully familiar, but that doesn't mean I would settle for 'sufficient' service at that price. But part of that is also caused by the passivity of the consumer.

That sounds a bit:snooty:

The year I stayed at the CBR we go the most towel animals than in all my trips put together, we got one or two a day. When we stayed at the GF we did not get towel animals but the housekeeper posed my daughters stuffed animals once in awhile, it was cute. I would never expect towel animal though, as others have posted it's a neat treat.

If you're writing notes try writing:

Animales con las toallas, por favor (animals with the towels, please)

or

Mis hijas les encantaría si usted haga una toalla animal. ¡Gracias! (My daughters would love if you make an animal towel. Thank you!)

It might not be perfect grammar (spanish isn't my first language), but I think a Spanish speaking mousekeeper could figure it out!

Comparing towel animals to valet parking and bell hops doesn't hold up. I would guarantee that there is mention of valet parking on that hotel's website and you will be paying for it. Towel animals are not mentioned or acknowledged by WDW as a resort perk and you can't pay for them as the OP has shown.

We have made many trips to WDW, all in deluxe resorts and rarely get a towel animal and never expect one. Cruises might be more of what you are looking for if not having towel animals causes disappointment. I'm happy enough with the resorts and parks.

I haven't really kept track of the towel animals, we've stayed many times, I remember having a mouse and a butterfly before, and the mickey symbol - don't think that really counts as a towel animal. I guess once the room has a towel animal, it just stays in the room like that right? I have never removed any in our room, so they are always there for the next guest.

We've never had much luck when it comes to towel art at WDW but the cruises are a totally different story :thumbsup2 We've $20.00 a night and no luck:sad:

It makes absolutely no difference whether you stay value or in a suite, you are not paying for towel animals with the cost of your room.

Tips don't work either.

This is another situation that the internet has built up false expectations of someone got one, I should get one too.

Sorry, they are like butterflys, sometimes one lands near you and sometimes they don't.

I am surprised towel animals aren't already extinct based on people's expectations created from the internet. I am sure it will happen at some point like other things especially if people are encouraged to complain about it.

That was nice of you to post :)

I have to admit that we've been lucky in the towel animal department on all of our trips, although one year, I think we got one or two the entire week. Like others have said, leaving an extra tip won't make a bit of difference if you get a housekeeper who doesn't know how to make one.

No habla espanol. this is certainly an amusing thread: sure to alienate Latinos who are qualified only to housekeeping , bellhopping or valet parking everywhere. How ever do they survive in this country? When the cashier asks for 10 dollars, as opposed to dinero, what do they do?
