We got here November 9th for a two week 40th birthday celebration. I got sick on Sunday after eating at Sanaa. I'm not saying that's what made me sick, but every time I say the name or think of my meal I feel even more nauseous. I've been stuck in my room since Monday sick as can be. This morning my husband and daughter when on my surprise MK tour without me. We are on the dining plan and all I've eaten in the past 4 days is a piece of dry toast and a handful of pretzel sticks.

Every night before I go to bed, I tell my family that I sure I'll be better in the morning. It's just not happening.

I think of the thousands of dollars we spent on this trip for me to be sick in bed....and I am officially feeling sorry for myself now.

My actual birthday is on Saturday. Hoping to feel well enough to go out by then.

I know there are things far worse in the world and in the big scheme of things this is no big deal. I just wanted a magical trip and I'm in a funk. :rolleyes2

So sorry that you are ill/ I think its the dreaded Disney Virus !!!
A few years back, we arrived on a friday, and I got sick on Saturday. Was in bed the entire trip. Disney sent a dr, but really what could he do?
I spent my vacation in the bathroom !! In 25 yearly trips, that is the only time I got ill.
Nothing much you can do, but stay HYDRATED. GATORAID IS YOUR FRIEND RIGHT NOW, I do feel for you. If you do eat, dry toast, mashed potatos, but not much else.
FEEL BETTER SOON

They actually sent a Dr. to my room. I was so sick I could not leave the room.

Please see my reply in your other thread. I think this thread is posted twice.

You still have days left on your vacation, right? Hopefully you will feel better tomorrow and enjoy the remainder of your trip. I think it's more likely you picked up a virus in the first few days of your vacation. Food poisoning wouldn't last this long. Feel better and have hope!

Not sure how bad you still are - but maybe a trip to Urgent Care is in order? The one by DS (Centra Care) - will do pick up and drop-off. You can call the front desk of your resort for more info.

There's also a point if you don't have enough food and drink - it's the lack of food/dehydration that makes you continue to feel awful.

Yep - most mild versions of food poisoning wouldn't last this long. SERIOUS bouts would - but you would have had super serious symptoms by now that likely would have had sent you to a doctor before now.

Sorry, your trip is not going great. I agree with the PP that you might want to get checked out since it has been 4 days.

I do understand about the though of Sanaa making you feel bad. When I get a stomach virus, it takes a long time for me to be able to eat the food, or at the restaurant, I had eaten just before I got sick. The last time it took me 3 months to try the food again and 6 months to go back the restaurant that I ate at the night before I got sick.

Hope you feel better soon and can enjoy your actual birthday.

Oh I totally get this feeling. Back in 2011 my son and I left a somewhat awful family reunion where most of the uncles and some cousins had been taken down with a 24 hour GI thing. It had been long enough since the last case when we left that we thought we were clear. We drove from AZ to CA and had one day tickets to spend in DCA, it was going to be glorious, then we were flying home. We ate at Tortilla Jo's in DTD. And at around 2am, my son became horribly belly-sick.

He was young enough that he's sort of forgotten the part about where we ate.

But I haven't. I'm not sure about going back. Even though I know it wasn't that place. (the day after DS got it, my dad got it, and we had been sharing hotel room with my dad, so it had to have been just a lull in the thing that was going around)

Being that sick for that long, I really do recommend you head into CentraCare. They have a free shuttle and your resort can call it for you.

HAPPY "40TH" in advance!:bday: HOPE that you feel better real soon and get to enjoy it!:flower: Guess a lot of us have been hit with getting sick at Disney. Back in 2008, DH and 2 sons had a WONDERFUL, memorable meal at California Grill. Wishes was awesome, beautiful night ended in me getting very sick about midnight that evening. Mine lasted about 24 hours. After that I was weak, but then functioned somewhat over the next 2 days. When I returned home, it developed from a virus into bacterial, got bronchitis. FEEL BETTER SOON and stay hydrated!:rose:

Might want to ask housekeeping to give your room a little more care after you feel better, hopefully your family won't be next.

FYI- I was there the first week of November as was a co-worker. They ate at the same place and his wife got very I'll (issues out both ends)- later that night. Not her it only lasted about a day, but it was their travel home day and she is disabled in a wheel chair so it made for a really rough day. Perhaps you should let them know at the restaurant in case there is a trend- although it could just be coincidence.

I'm sorry!! Same thing happened to me many years ago. I kept waking up each morning, getting showered and dressed, then getting sick to my stomach as I tried to leave the room. Will never go back to the POFQ food court ever again!! My dh had to take the kids to the parks by himself. Finally felt better after 4 days.
