Here now..AKL!

Sorry your trip is over, but now you can start planning for next year's trip as that will be here before you know it :goodvibes. Glad you were able to experience 3 resorts in one trip and glad you had a great time at all of them. Sounds like you had an amazing 16 days ::yes::.

Thanks for all of your updates......I really enjoyed reading along and hearing about your resort experiences, dining, activities, etc. Happy planning for next year's trip.......hope to follow along on that trip too :wizard:. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Hey mickeynut1! Sorry for the delay! I actually responded to everyone last week while I was still in Treasure Island, but the stupid wifi wasn't working very well, and when I hit submit, nothing happened and I lost everything I typed, so I figured I would wait until I was home to respond again:)

So, I have already booked next years Oct trip, yay!

Experiencing 3 resorts was awesome, and I wouldn't have changed a thing! It was like a new vacation each time:goodvibes It also felt like the vacation lasted longer, and didn't go by too fast cause of all the things we got to experience.

AKL is still our fav, and that's where we are going to stay next year. We are going to do 3 weeks again, but I may book off property for the 1st week because I really want to try the resort Marriott Harbour Lake. It is only 10 mins from Disney, so we would still do Disney some days, but also enjoy the resort. I've read amazing things about it, so we're pretty excited about it.
Then we would do 9 days at AKL (and maybe 2 nights Poly just to try it out) and then go to Treasure Island again for the 3rd week.

I promise to do another trip report for next Oct. I had no idea I would have so many followers, and I really loved reading everyone's comments:goodvibes

Thanks again for all your help! I am very excited to start planning next year's!

Actually, I do have a quick question if you or some one could please answer...

I am debating either the 1st 3 weeks of Oct (so the 1st 2 weeks we would do Disney Oct 4th-11th & 11th-18th) or do Disney week 2 & 3 of Oct (11th-18th & 18th-25th). Anyone know what would be better?

Cheers!:cool1:

Did you write a review of AKL on Trip Advisor? I was reading up on AKL before our days there in a few weeks, and saw a review that sounded a lot like the report you put on here. Just curious! Thanks for all the info.! I can't wait to be there!

I sure did! :thumbsup2

Have a magical vacation! I am sure you will LOVE AKL!!! And you are very welcome for all the info, happy to help:goodvibes

what a great trip report, flinkerfrosch! i just read the whole thing this morning. it was down to earth and informative without all the irrelevant details and extensive info about family members :lmao: that often goes into peoples trip reports. have stayed at AKL (loved it!) and BC (liked AKL more) and so i really enjoyed reading your take on the resorts. we have also stayed at poly (which is our favorite between AKL, BC, and poly) so i was hoping you would stay there, too, lol, but glad you enjoyed WL. i would love to see some pics! in order to post them, you have to first upload them to a site such as photobucket and then copy and paste the url's from there. after my last trip, i chose to just upload all my pics to flickr and then post the link here. i didn't have any pics of us, just the resort, so i wasn't worried about privacy.

Hey there :wave2:. Glad you already booked next year's trip.....that's the best way to lessen the sadness of your trip being over ::yes::. As far as when in October to go, if it were me, I think I'd do Disney the latter part of the month. We've been twice at the very end of September through the first week of October and once at the very end of October through the first week of November and while we did love all 3 times, the end of October is my favorite (although you will have a fabulous time either way). Thanks again for your live updates, I really enjoyed them. Happy planning with the next trip......can't wait to start reading along next year :goodvibes.

have stayed at AKL (loved it!) and BC (liked AKL more) and so i really enjoyed reading your take on the resorts. we have also stayed at poly (which is our favorite between AKL, BC, and poly)

Us too.....out of the three, our favorite is the Poly, followed by AKL and then BC :).

Thank-you so much for your kind words :thumbsup2. I am very happy you enjoyed the report! :)
I had to chuckle when I read the part of "hoping we stayed at the Poly" cause I did too! I really wanted to stay at the Poly, but I was out voted:( We did visit it, and my DH and boys did love it as well, but they liked WL just a tad more...
We are returning to Disney next year for 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to stay a few nights at the Poly to try it out!
My fav is still AKL, and that's where the bulk of our stay will be;)
Thanks for the tip on uploading pics! I am computer stupid..lol I'm still waiting for my DH to upload our 1000+ photos on the computer (he rolls his eyes at me at the # of photos I took..hehe) and once that's done, I will do my best to upload some pics! We got some amazing photos, so I would love to share! :goodvibes

Hello again:wave2:

You're so right! Because I'm already planning next year's I do not have withdrawal..lol Although, I do miss the hot weather (I'm from Canada so its cold here now:( ) and I do miss the FOOD!!! Oh, the food!!! The buffets were fantastic!!! My waist line is happy though that I've taken a break...haha
As for next year's trip, my boys want to be home for Halloween next year, so I have to work around them. I was considering the last week of Oct and 1st week of Nov at Disney, but if I do that, I have to convince my boys to be away for Halloween again.
If I can't convince them, then I need to work around it. I'm lost on what to do right now cause I have NO idea about crowds/weather in Nov. I was even considering the last week of Sept/1st week of Oct, but I've heard Sept is very rainy!?
Decisons..decisions...

Thanks for your input though in regards to Oct, much appreciated!!!!! :cool1:

I just posted on your new thread :goodvibes. I agree about the food/buffets. We have had great experiences with all of our meals at Disney and the food is just as important as the resort ::yes::. I have just as much time planning ADRs as I do planning/booking the resort. I totally understand working around kids. Mine are adults (18 & 20) and as they get older, they have so much going on that I'm told we can't go during certain times, and it's not even school issues, it's their personal schedules of things they want to be home for :rotfl::rotfl:. I'm sure whichever time frame you decide on will be perfect :thumbsup2.

I saw your post on my new thread, thank-you! I'm going to respond shortly:)
I love everything about planning Disney, so fun eh!?
I'm going to do my best to honor my kids wishes, but if I can't, its not like I'm dragging them somewhere no fun..lol
I'm going to rent points next year at AKL, and I got an amazing deal for a Savannah View, CL!!! The lady I'm renting points from is waiting for me to pick my weeks, so I have to make the decision very soon! I've never done CL, so we're very excited!!!
We're doing the dining plan for the whole time next year, and I just hope its not too much food!
