Here now- a few thoughts

With regards to the EMH/MM thing, I've been the recipient of this kindness before. I actually did know better, but happened to just arrive much earlier than anticipated for the day. Sometimes, if they predict it won't be too crowded (or there are one or two CMs I know if that just let people in because they're really nice) they'll let people in anyway. It's kind of a treasure to have an opportunity for this and I'm sure it made that family's day.

I'm glad they moved your room. What a pain! Those hotels are so expensive. They should be bending over backward for you for the prices you pay.
I don't think they should let people in. Where does it stop?! They should get rid of mm.

I don't pay resort prices but if I did I'd be peeved they let those that didn't pay (for just about the only perk).

I actually agree. The couple of times it happened to me, we were patiently waiting along the planters on the side not even attempting to get in. I'm not sure really why they do it sometimes. I've always assumed it's just based on projected crowds, but I would think crowds are still pretty high this time of year, so that blows that theory.

I think the whole MM thing is kind of ridiculous. I get EMH if you are onsite since you're paying for it, but it cheapens the EMH when pretty much anyone who stays multiple days can get an MM.

That doesn't mean it wasn't a nice surprise for those families if they truly didn't know though.

Keep in mind that people that stay off site but buy multiple day ticket spend a lot of money overall too. That makes it fair for them to get early entry once or twice as well.

IMO the MM at DLR is pointless when there are that many people there. We no longer use the mm available with our ticket.

They get early entry once with the ticket. Early entry beyond that is based on where they stay, not the ticket they buy. And the people staying onsite are generally paying a premium for that.

If early entry is given to everyone, it's really no longer early entry. It already feels like that at DL most of the time.

I'm glad you had your room switched. Something similar happened to me at the Capital Hilton in DC last year. I noticed a wet spot on the floor as I was getting ready, but didn't think anything of it. Well the housekeeper must have noticed and took action. The manager of the hotel called and emailed us to alert us that there was a problem with the room. We were out touring for the day and didn't want to go back. They said it could wait until we came back, no problem. So when we returned to the hotel that night, the had us upgraded to a suite, with access to the executive lounge, and gave us the choice of so many points or one night comped. They also had waited to deal with the major clean up of the wet room until we got our stuff out, to protect our belongings and they didn't want to inconvenience us. I was really impressed with their attitude, compensation, and attention to their rooms. I like how proactive they were about something I didn't even complain about.

So long story short, Disney really should have done more to comp you. Two fast passes don't really make up for it. You were put in a possible health hazard and basically you were ignored when you expressed concern. If you haven't already talked to a manager you should ask to talk to the hotel manager, you weren't really treated like a valued guest.

I think we're saying the same thing.
I'm not suggesting everyone gets EE every day but those who pay for 3+ day tickets are paying enough that it's fair for them to get an EE - but certainly not every day.

It's kind of pointless to me too but it's because they keep the half of the park I like best closed. Doing that makes all the other attractions through out the park as busy as if it were normal opening time.

If it were me, I would simply go to the front desk and tell them that they need to move me to a different room...politely but firmly.

100% agree. We had this happen once (not at a Disney Hotel). We were only staying the one night but we were refunded the cost of the room and given a discount on our next stay. As was said be polite but firm on wanting a new room, even if its cleaned up there is often a musty smell after that you should not have to deal with for the duration of your stay.

Just realized I now have an adjoining room and a screaming baby. I have to get back on track or this really will ruin my vacation. I've become very angry and have to figure out a way to shake it.

Geez, you just can't win.

We had a screaming baby next to us on a trip a couple years ago. Every morning at 5:30 I woke to the sounds of a crying baby. We really should have moved (and next time I will). I never could go back to sleep each morning after being woken up. It's hard to fully enjoy your trip when you start the day with a sleep deficit.

Update: I was thinking about things this morning and realized I had an outlet; the concierge lounge. I poured out the whole story (poor woman having to listen to this) and she called a supervisor. They sat with me, checked the room situation and offered to move me again since it was written in my initial notes that I didn't want an adjoining room. They checked the reservation and saw that baby was leaving today and 2 adults would be next to us for the next few days. So I decided to stay. they took the time to listen and commiserate and I think that's all I needed.

And I found ear plugs in my toiletry bag so it won't matter about babies!

Back on a happy track; looking forward to WOC tonight.

I was thinking the same thing. They pay a lot money and I'd say that at those rates for what you get you're paying for about 150 a night worth of customer service and EE. I would certainly be miffed If I had to pay while others got it for free and I'd be roiled if I got sub par customer service if I had room issue.

I actually think its cute that you thought you might be overreacting to your room issues. If I had that trouble in my 100 a night room at DI&S I would have been firm about needing a new room when I first saw the puddle. You were about as patient even-tempered as possible given the circumstances.

My family was given special access to the early morning hours at DCA. We were waiting patiently in line to get in, and they gave us special passes. It made our trip!
