Here is a treat for those addicted to DCL

I tried to find CC, I think I found it but I am not sure. Is it at the bottom of the "C"? I hope so, because then I found it! Otherwise... HELP1

:cool1: AGGHHHH! Modern Technology at it's best....can you fathom great-grandma Pearl sitting at her computer in 1911 planning her next DCL cruise and enjoying such visuals? WE ARE SO LUCKY....and incredibly spoiled!

I dream about our DCL cruise frequently (not until November!) so this has been an added bonus...thanks!

Very cool!

I don't think it's live though. I checked my own address and it comes up but our neighborhood comes up as just on a dirt road and woods. We've lived here 3 years already.

Still, it's neat to check out. Thanks!

On the Today show this morning they had a little blurb about this. They stated that some of the satellite pictures were 1 year old. Still kind of cool. :cool1:

I am pretty sure it is a frozen image from an earlier date...well obviously it is if some peoples neighborhoods aren't even built yet! Our county website has the same thing for property values...when we pull up our house, it is just a dirt lot! I remember mapquest used to do the sattelite image, but they stopped it...

Other cool things to check out are WDW and DLR. I just entered in "Harbor and Disneyland Ananheim, Ca" and it pulled up DLR. Pretty cool to try to figure out exactly what all the buildings are! Okay, I need to get away from the computer...it is BEAUTIFUL OUT!!!! :flower:

No, the images aren't that recent in a lot of cases. I'm pretty sure that the content on Google Maps is the same as on Terraserver.com in a lot of cases. On Terraserver, they list the dates and data vendors.

I looked at our neighborhood on Google maps and it's at least two years old, based on the construction which has gone on in the area.

Thanks this is cool looking at my old home town... lol

The disboards is so neat, you all know so much, I always learn about the coolest stuff. The site is AWSOME!!!! We looked up our house and then we printed out the site for our neighbor,he is a teacher and will take it to show his class. We followed the roads and found the mall where my Mom works and printed that out for her to take to work! We have found CC and Boardwalk and ...and....and wahoo!!!! Thank You.

The other ship is RCCL--Mariner of the Seas or another voyager class. You can see the mini golf and inline skate areas at the rear of the ship.
