Well I am back to trying to loose 30 pounds.
I am a 42 year old DDad of two boys. I am 6' tall and 240.5 pounds. Last year this time I was 247.5 and went down to 216 pounds by mid March. I then stopped getting on the scale(denial kicked in) and started with my heavy snacking after dinner( I know the WORST thing to do!) :confused3 .

I have started walking 4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes and cut my calorie intake back dramatically:

Breakfast - Fiber bar 140 calories
Lunch- Salad w/ balsamic vinegar or another Fiber bar
Diner- Whatever the family is eating( single serving)
Dessert- One SMALL square of 70% cocoa chocolate 55 calories and a non- sodium seltzer

I have lost 2 pounds in one week and feel better already. I am looking forward to getting back down to under 220 so that my clothes( most of which are too tight to wear now) will fit again. I remember last March how good I felt waking up every morning not needing to worry about what clothes were clean( because everything fit!) .
I took a picuture of myself last night ( not pretty) to use as a gauge of my progress.

Wish me well........

Welcome to WISH!

I am glad that even though you've slipped, that you are back on trying again. Keep at it! You will be fitting into those clothes soon.

One thing I'm thinking is that you want to make it fun somehow. Don't use that "D" word, focus on making healthier choices so it can become a way of life rather than that of denial.

WISHing you all the best in your journey. Come play on some of the challenge threads.

Come often, post lots. We need each other.

You know you can do this. Keep on keepin' on.

:cheer2: :cheer2:

Good Luck Tonyspad.

Just want to point out that you should be careful about your caloric intake. What you've listed really doesn't seem like enough food for an adult male (even one on a diet) and while you'll be successful at first eventually your body will stop burning calories if it's not getting enough food.

My calorie intake is between 1500 and 2000 per day. I know it has only been a week, but mentally I feel better already knowing that I have committed to this and will get in those clothes soon.

It is good that you are feeling committed to this healthy chosing.

I do hope that things have been going great!

Welcome to WISH! I think we all slip when it comes to weight loss, but the important thing is that we recognize it and catch ourselves. You know you can do this as you did it before, we are here to support you in your quest! Good luck on your journey.

Well my new "eating lifestyle" is working. I weighed myself this morning ( on my brand new WW scale) and I am now 238.6 lbs :cheer2:

I do not feel as if I am cheating myself out of anything-- Just need to stay away from those after dinner late night visits to Mr Brownie and Mrs Ice Cream..... So far so good.

It seems that the small piece of chocolate(55 calories) is enough for my body before I go to sleep to stop the cravings. I have already planned our Christmas Eve dinner( Shellfish without butter and whole wheat pasta). Plus I know I will be able to control myself on Xmas day.
I will check in sometime next week.

Thank you Tiger Lily.
I must admit I was a little scared to get on the scale this morning. I skipped my weigh in last week( usually the beginning of something bad!) but this morning I got on the scale for my weekly weigh in and was at 238.6! I am very happy I did not gain any weight over the holidays and have put myself back on track. I will check in again next week.
