Hi,

As we all know, storms like Ivan that are this far out are hard to predict because they can loose stem as they come closer or turn and not enough come into contact with North America. I for one hope that Ivan misses Florida and hormlessly goes out to sea, because the people of florida have been through enough.

I saw this information on another WDW site and thought that I would pass it on.

http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/satelliteworld/caribbeansatellite_large.html

Seeing this information, we are definately holding off on making any trips to WDW this year and will go twice next year (an 8 day trip before hurricane season May-June, 05 and our 10 day Dec 2005 trip after hurricane season).

I sure hope we make our Sept. 18th trip. Thanks for the info and website.

well we are scheduled to fly out on the 18th at 630 in the am on jet blue
I am starting to worry about my trip
I would be way bummed out if its ruined
I will be watching the weather like a hawk

Kelly -- We will also be flying out of Boston on the 6:30am Jetblue flight on the 18th!!! You will notice us with the screaming child as this will be his first airplane trip  Actually, I think he will be pretty excited. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. See you then... its getting closer :Pinkbounc

looking at the map it looks like they could be tropical, but did you read that they were? Lots of times our local weather shows storms that look like that and they aren't tropical systems, just regular storms... confusing I know. The only tropical system I know of is Ivan. Tropical systems, develop into depressions, into storms, into hurricanes. I could be wrong but like I said, the only one that is anything (last I looked) was Ivan....

Fellow Disney Lovers,
Please do not panic because there are thunderstorms in the Atlantic. These storms have not even become tropical depressions yet. Thats one of the first steps. Having 2 hurricanes hit FL within weeks of each other is rare. The last time it happened was in 1950. Ivan is too far out yet to determine what will happen. A cold front or a high pressure can steer a hurricane in a different direction. 2 different high pressures steered Frances into FL. 1 was over N. FL/GA border and the other was in the Atlantic. If the one in the Atlantic had weakened, Frances would have headed North. Its just to soon to tell. They are advising us in S FL to keep shutters up just in case but do you know how many people ran to the stores everytime we thought there would be a hurricane hitting us. I've prepared for more hurricanes that didn't hit us than the ones that did (Andrew & Frances). Just like after Andrew everytime a hurricane builds plenty of people will think it will hit FL (most don't).

Have a safe and great vacation,

Shirley:sunny:

Hey, I'm flying at 6:30am on the 18th!..... but Song out of LaGuardia.

Our trips should be fine! Think positive.
