Here at CSR now and it is...

Buzz,
any word on when they are actually going to renumber the buildings though? When we were there last week it was still 9a, 9b, 8a, 8b.
I went to the front desk and the CM i spoke with knew nothing about new numbers. CSR is still handing out the old maps and using the old numbering system.

Hey Buzz,

We just got back from our wonderful stay at CSR on Monday. What a wonderful resort!! The CM's were fantastic, especially Ahimsa at the front desk, who gave us a free upgrade to a corner waterview room in Cabanas 8b when she found we'd been assigned a Casitas room (not what I had requested). Very comfortable; 2 windows; quick access to Dig Site for DD; shuttle stop right outside.

After 3 straight days of 2 parks a day, my feet were so sore, I really came to appreciate those shuttles. Plus, they're pretty entertaining. One gal drives hers with the pedal to the metal. Yee Ha! Better hold on if you're riding on the back.

We only ate breakfast at PM, but it was great every time.

A big plus is the speed of WDW transportation from CSR to everywhere else. Fastest of all the resorts we've been at. (Some pretty funny drivers too.)

The resort is very attractive and seems well kept up. Thanks for your website and recommendations back when I was deciding where to stay. Have a wonderful time, as I'm sure you will.

Harry

P.S. We rode in one of the new "Magical Express" Mears buses on the way to the airport. (Had to pay.) Very nicely decorated and designed. Wish they'd started the service before now, but it will be a great addition.
Glad you had a great trip! We are having a awesome time too!

If there wasn't enough stuff to make you love this resort, CSR has now gone and added an internal resort shuttle service available to all guests. No more walking to the ranchos if you don't want to. Just wait at the established shuttle stops or wave down the specific golf carts for a ride. The carts have a sign on the front that read TRANSPORTATION for RESORT GUESTS and have a yellow light on the top of the cart. I will post pictures of the shuttle stop signs and the new cart signs when I return. CSR just keeps on adding new features.

I'll be at the CSR in a month with my family. I bought the new Disney Plan for two meals and a snack a day. There is controversy as to if the Maya Grill and the Pepper Market take the Plan. I just called the Hotel's front desk and they tell me that THEY ARE NOT IN THE PLAN. Since you are there right now do you know for sure one way or another. Thanks
The CM I spoked with tonight told me that the PM and Maya Grill are both in the plan.

heyho buzz
sounds like you're having a wonderful vacation, hope it will be the same when i go to CSR in summer ! i'm looking forward to your pictures so much

uhm i didn't quite get it, did you bring your own notebook or are there PCs in the rooms ? Is internet free of charge or do you have to pay ?

and what can you do exactly at the dig site ? is it just a pool or what can one do there ?

They have high speed acces in the rooms and I brought my own laptop. It is $9.95 for 24 hours. If you start at 5:00pm the service goes until 5:00pm the next day. They also have WiFi available and I saw a few guests surfing by the pool area. WiFi is available for te same $9.95 and can be accessed in certain areas around the resort.

The Dig Site is a pool, playground area, sand box, volleyball court, hot tub, arcade, bar and snack bar all in one. There is also a hari wrap station but that is only open on certain days.

oh, sounds good....thank you buzz !!

but my lack of english language strikes me again (can you say it like this ? please correct me if you notice any mistakes in my english! ) what is a "hari wrap station"?

Buzz...
since you are there, can you tell me what buildings are smoking?
And if there are buildings that have both Smoking and non-smoking rooms in one building? I'm staying at CSR in May with my father...we have 2 rooms booked and he's requesting a smoking room, but I want non-smoking.... but I'd hate to be on the other side of the resort from him.

thanks.

Maxiv, Buzz meant a hair wrap station (where little girls, or even women I suppose) can get their hair wrapped with different beads, etc. if you are familiar with Bo Derek in the movie 10 from the 1980's, I believe that's what it's similar to (at least I think that's what it is). By the way, your english seems great!

Buzz,

Does the Ranchos section have a "quiet pool"? If so, could you snap a picture and post to your site.

Thanks,
Ron

We just switched to CSR and our TA said we would be getting a water view room, that all of the standard view rooms were booked. Can you tell me about the best water view rooms? Im in no hurry, I know you are on vacation and probably very busy. Its great of you to even be posting at all :)

Water view can be of a quiet pool too. I still like the cabana view of 8a for the best waterviews. Check some of the photos on my website

The front desk told me that there are a minimal number of rooms in each village that are set aside for smoking rooms. So yes, you could get a building (cabana 9a) with rooms that are both. A friend of mine is down here with us and got room 9204 and that was definitely a smoking optional room. She switch to room 9547 today to a non-smoking room.

Siestas stayed open until 8:00pm last night. I know some were asking how late it stays open. It varies depending on the amount of people at the resort and pool area. The snack bar closed at 6:00pm.
