Heraklion from Chania?

I'm considering booking an 8 day Greek cruise on the Dream but I really want to see Knossos and the museum in Heraklion which is 2 hours away from the Chania port. The DCL website doesn't have any excursions listed for Chania which seems odd since the ship is in port 8 hours. I looked for an independent tour but most of them are too lengthy to get back to the ship in ample time. Has anyone done this? Thanks for any suggestions.

In Crete, we booked tours through a company called Creten Tour Experts and saw Knossos and the Heraklion Museum (however, we flew into Heraklion so they were easy to get to) - you could get in touch with them to see if they could accommodate you - with a 4 hour round-trip drive, however, you would only have 3 hours of touring in order to get back to the ship on time. https://www.tour-experts.gr

We are on the 8 night Greek Isles cruise in June. My booking window just opened today. I have been researching the DCL excursions on their website- but now that my window is open, only 5 tours are offered and one is already sold out (within 5 minutes of my booking window opening and I am gold).

Thanks, I will check them out. I know that time will be limited but I specifically want to to see the bull leaping fresco (the original fragments in the museum and the recreation in Knossos) so if I can see those, anything else that I have time to see will be gravy.

Knossos isn't a huge site, so shouldn't take too long - I think we were there for about an hour and that included walking most of the site. The museum is fairly small as well, but is chock full of incredible pieces. I hope you will be able to make it work!
