My friend is taking her 5 year old niece, sister and the 60some year old parents to DLR at the end of Feb.

Are there any deals right now for that time?

I saw a 4th night free - is there anything else, coming?

Is Hojo a lot farther to walk than the hotels right across the street and is it worth it?

They haven't yet released special offers for early 2010 (the 4 night thing is for this year). But they have in the past several years done promos from January through April, so there's a big chance that there will be some special deal during that time.

The walk from HoJos to the entrance gates was 8 minutes. That is the time that was reported by the hotel and we actually timed it and it was 8 minutes. I also stayed at the Tropicana which is right across the street and the walk was about 5 minutes. HoJos has the one of the best beds and THE best pool (other than onsite) for kids within walking distance. The rooms are pretty big, but the one downside is no breakfast. Don't know if that's important or not.

The usual deals for that time of year is "everyone plays at the kids price". I believe it was announced around the end of Oct. last year, so we'll keep you up to date. With the size of the group (4 adults, 1 child?), maybe Desert Inn & Suites would be more comfortable??

Perhaps they could get the ent. rate @ HoJo's on a kids suite http://www.hojoanaheim.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14 ~ Gma & Pa in the seperate but attached room with a king ~ the sisters could sleep on the bunk beds (I sleep on a twin at home so this would be fine by me) and the child on the fold out chair bed that's in the bunk bed room. We really like the HoJo. I'd suggest a stroller for the niece ~ my DD hasn't used a stroller outside Disney Parks for a few years but you can bet she strolls in comfort at Disney ~ earlier this month at WDW we (me, DS, my mom) we're worn out at the end of the day ~ DD after sitting in a stroller all day was bouncing off the walls!
