So my boyfriend and I had some PTO to use, so we took January 6th 7th 8th and 9th off. Well we were just going to have a staycation, but started talking today, and we kind of want to take a random, impromptu trip to DISNEYLAND. However, since it is such short notice, I'm having to go a little cheaper on the hotel then I prefer, so my question is, what advice do ya'll have for us on a cheap hotel within walking distance? The cheaper the better, we haven't saved at all for this trip and are paying out of pocket lol. Thanks!:confused3

look at the hotels right across the street from the main gate. the ones on the back side are not close. The best western is good. Fairfield inn if you want better quality. Del sol was nasty, I would not recommend that one. Ive been told the castle inn & camelot inn are nice but, have not stayed there myself.

After a full day of walking in the parks....I would rather have a short walk back to hotel rather then venture thru downtown disney or all the way around the back.

Have fun! That time in January should be perfect timing for low crowds!!

I've stayed at the Fairfield in the past and loved it. I've been looking at the Ramada Maingate. I guess I can't justify spending the fairfields $140 compared to the Ramada's $70 when we'll only be there for 3 nights with only 2.5 days at the park! :confused3 We are never going to be in the room lol. Thank you!

I was not a fan of the Ramada and would not recommend it in all honesty. I would look at the Best Western, Camelot Inn, or Tropicana Inn instead! Hope this helps!

Desert Inn & Suites has one room left for your dates for $112/night, Del Sol right next door is $3/night less.

Check getawaytoday.com . They might have some good deals still aavailable for your dates.

I have stayed in the Desert Inn & Suites and Camelot Inn, and can recommend them both. With AAA discount I got a room at the Camelot for $109. Keep in mind at many of these hotels they will tack on a parking fee when you get there (expect about $8-$10 a night). Also keep in mind whether you want a fridge/microwave in the room. When I am going to DLR on a budget I make sure to have these in my room so that I can save money on dining by bringing my own groceries and creating my own meals in the room. Think about if you'd like a hotel with free breakfast.

As far as location, for the closet to the entrance choose one along Harbor Blvd.

I recently compared the hotels for a recent trip of mine and the clear winners (taking into account location and price) were Desert Inn & Suites, Camelot Inn, Tropicana Inn & Suites, and Ramada Inn Maingate. Park Vue Inn was slightly more expensive but included free parking and breakfast, so also a good option. I have only personally stayed at the first three I listed, so I can't vouch for the quality of the others.

While I wouldn't recommend the hotel itself (Travel Lodge International), my 18 year old is currently there with a friend. They are talking the shuttle from the Toy Story parking lot (free), and it seems to be working for them. There are other nicer hotels over there that might be cheaper due to the distance from Disneyland, and the shuttle could get you there.
