I tried looking for prices this past weekend and all I could come up with was around 4,000 for DH, myself, 5 and 2 year old... Is it really this much or am I doing something wrong? Looking at maybe this summer or even fall...

Do you book on the Disney site?

Please help!

I have booked online and also through Disney Vacation Club. I just booked a inside stateroom for our oldest daughter and her husband for Oct 4th Eastern this year and It is running us about 2800.00 for both of them. You can add your kids for about 800.00 a piece in the same stateroom. Disney is expensive but I think overall it is worth it.

Prices are now at a premium for this summer. Prices increase for the most popular cruises with the best prices available when booking first opens. In the next couple of weeks summer 2015 prices will be released and will probably be cheaper than the current summer 2014 prices. You will find a better price in fall, avoiding Halloween. No travel agents can offer better prices than disney but some may give you onboard credit.

I think the key with DCL is to book early. To get the best prices, I think you need to book a year in advance. Although $4000 would be a decent price for a 7 night.

Prices are fixed by DCL regardless of who you book with.

Prices vary considerably depending on the time of year you sail, and prices go up as you get closer to the sail date.

For example, cruses during the summer or when the kids are out of school cost significantly more than during off season or when kids are in school. Also, booking today for a cruise in less than six months will result in a lot higher rates than a cruise 18 months ahead.

Finally, stateroom type and category will have a significant price difference.

If you say book opening day for a 3n inside to cruise in between Xmas and new years eve, it could cost you over $3K, but the same cruise in the early of March (2015), could cost you less than half that.

If you're looking to cruise THIS summer, you will be better off waiting for last minute rates to come out, as long as you are flexible. These rates (*GT rates) come about 30-60 days prior to sailing on some itineraries and are typically the same or better than opening day rates.

Currently, DCL is booking up until spring 2015. Later 2015 dates should be released around the last week of this month.

Thank you all and thank you Minniemiss for posting that for me. I knew I created a thread and then I couldn't find it! I was thinking that maybe I didn't submit it!

I guess everyone is right- since it's so close. Better look at next year! We are supposed to go back to Disney next Feb but I almost would rather try the cruise! :)

What category room are you looking at? A family of 4 cruising on 10/2/14 in a verandah room would cost $1922.

You should cruise on 10/2! That's the one my family is on!! After looking through prices for next March and February prices jump around quite a bit over a couple weeks prices nearly doubled.

You may want to look at cruisefish.net - Click on Finder and then select the ship and sailing date. If the rates listed are in black, the rates are still opening day rates. If red, they've gone up since. You can hover over the rate and it will display the changes.

Do not pay attention to the EUR or GBP rates as those will change depending on the exchange rate.

Rates that show greyed out are categories sold out.
Prices shows are per person for the first or 2nd passenger.
Kids will be less.
Even if a cat shows available, it might not be when booking due to muster stations capacity.

For example, 3n Dream for July 3rd, are still showing opening day rates for verandah staterooms. Inside/oceanview are higher. But you are looking at $1180 per person for the first two adults.

October 2nd rates are already higher than opening day rates, but they are more than half the price of the July rates. Opening day rates for verandah started at about $525 p/p instead of the current rates of $555

Hope this helps...

I domt know what ship pr cruise length you r looking at, but the Wonder has a few great prices in Sep and Oct.

Well we are supposed to go to the beach labor day weekend so 10/2 is a little too close for that. :( although the cruise sounds like way more fun!

That is the going price if you're looking at summer dates. You mentioned fall. It is not that expensive in the fall. Check September, October and November dates. You can do that on the Disney site easily enough. ;)
