So my fiance and I are planning on a 6 night trip to disney from Feb 8th to the 14th. My fiance works at Hampton Inn and gets $29 hotel stays for anywhere in the USA. Anyways, availability is always tough especially for places such as Disney. We found the Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista for $29 a night, so for 6 days it comes to $195. I feel like this is such a good deal that we cant pass up, yet a part of me feels like that "magic" wont be the same from staying on site at a disney resort. We stayed at Disney Carribean resort back in May of 2012 and it was amazing. I just dont want this trip to dissapoint. What do you guys think? Should we do the Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista for $29 a night, or should I forget that altogether and pay the higher price for a disney resort? Is the Hampton Inn in Lake Buena vista worth it? Thanks for the help!

I think you can buy alot of "disney magic" with the money savings at the Hampton! :thumbsup2

This!!!

With the money you are saving, you could book a Wishes or Illuminations cruise. You could book a couple of special signature restaurant dinners. You could book the dessert party. Etc. Etc. Etc.

stay with the $29 - what I do when staying offsite - for one night of my stay go with a value or dvc resort - pick a day when the EHM is what you want - your favorite park. then you get a wonderful deal $29 a night and your Disney fix too.

$29?? That's a no brainer. We stayed there in June. It is very close to a WDW gate and close to DTD. Spend the savings on other things like meals. Just my opinion.

I get hotels for around $29 often on blind booking sites like Hotwire or Travelocity secret hotels, but it's a crapshoot as far as how good a hotel you're going to get.You might get what you think is going to be a hotel that you've gotten 10 times before in that area and instead get another hotel that's just not very good.I've never stayed at that particular Hampton Inn but I stayed at the one by the Convention center which was new and very nice with a good breakfast,if this one is anywhere as good you have to go with the $29 offer.Hampton Inn is a good brand overall and 6 days for under $200 I would book it right now.

With that kind of saving you can do lots of other stuff like maybe a day at Discovery Cove (a must do at least once) or a Beluga whale swim at Seaworld. Plus that's such a great location, so close to DTD and near Seaworld too. I love spending evenings at DTD but it can be a pain to get there unless you are at Lake Buena Vista.

I'm a big on site fan, but have two young kids. Without kids, for the right amount of savings ($29 a night is for sure!!), I'd be off site. You can rent a car for the difference, and have the ability to escape the herding that is all Disney all the time vacation. And get some food you prefer at a Publix.

Stay there and do a Universal/Seaworld trip with just a pinch of Disney, then it will be something new and different and not have to compare with an onsite trip. Discovery Cove is great and you get Seaworld and Aquatica included for 2 wks with your Discovery Cove day.

Question: Can he use that rate at any Hilton hotel or just Hampton Inn? If he can use at any - the Hilton or Doubletree at DTD may help your on property desire or if you are looking for a newer upscale, we just stayed at Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista South and loved it.

The difference between your HI rate and onsite at the moderate you are familiar with are huge and no way worth the difference. I have stayed at the HI LBV and it is nice, rooms and beds were very comfortable, breakfast is busy but all one needs. Great location to WDW, DTD, I-4 and even back road to Universal.

I agree to save the money and use it to take advantage of some other things in the area. I would be all over the day at Discovery Cove. I've been several times and returning next month. Limited number of guests and you truly feel you have been transported to some island. Swim with dolphins, snorkel all day, beautiful lazy river, breakfast and lunch buffet included, music, snacks and drinks all day ... perfect luxury item for a honeymoon.

Thanks guys for all the input. I listened to all of you and just booked the six nights at Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista. We are planning on doing a couple of the disney parks, plus DTD, but also planning on doing Universal, sea world, and definately Discovery Cove. Again thanks for the help, truely appreciate it. As for the question that was asked. My fiance can get any hilton hotel for $29, but like I said, its rather difficult to find any "employee rate" hotels near disney. Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista was pretty much only hotel that had availability in that area.
