How do you delete a thread?

Just change the title to "Please Delete" and an admin or moderator will take care of it for you. There's no way to delete a thread on your own, unfortunately.

The actual title of the thread, you can do that if you edit the original post of the thread.

ETA: You have to press the go advanced button in the lower right-hand corner of the edit box to do that, sorry for the confusion!
