I'm sure this has been asked 100's of times but I don't have time to search and I would appreciate any help you can offer me...

We are scheduled to leave on June 30th for my daughters sweet 16 birthday trip and my mother fell last Thursday and broke her right kneecap in half :scared1:. She had surgery on Friday to repair it but she is in a hinged knee brace with little flexion at this point. She gets the staples out on the 20th  and she is doing great, weight bearing as tolerated, but here is where I need help.

We are staying off site July 1-5th and spending 2 days at Universal. I'm sure we can rent a ecv to use those 2 days but I was wondering if you could help me with finding one to have at our resort July5-13. I dont want to just rent one each day at the park because she will need it more than that. Is there a company that will deliver a ride to our resort and will we be restricted to using disney buses to get around? We are driving down in a van, would it be possible to load into the van so we could drive to the parks? :confused3

If we can go ahead and put an order in and pay the rental fee in advance we would like to do that and have it taken care of.

Also, should I notify the resort now? I don't remember ever seeing ecv's in the hallways of our resort last time we were there.

Follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread.
Post 2 in that thread has information bout renting ECVs, both inside the parks and from off-site places. There is a list of off site places in that post.

All of the off-site vendors will deliver and pick up ECVs. If you want to be able to transport it in your an, just tell the peron at the rental company and they will rent one to you that taken apart into smaller pieces to lift into a van or car.

Most people charge the ECV in their room. Housekeeping can remove some furniture if you need to.
You only need to let the resort know if you need a roll in shower or are at a resort without elevators and wnt to tell them you need first floor..

Also, you might wnt to look at posts 18-22 on page 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, which has information about boarding rides (like hitch have a big step in, etc).

Hope she is feeling better soon.

wait sorry, I really need to stop posting before coffee. I read it like your dd needed the ecv
