Does anyone know how to contact a higher up General Motors reps. I have a new Enclave 3500 miles (Drove it to Disney once thats all) and the motor is pucked. Now I'm getting the run around.

Not sure what you mean by pucked but does your state have a Lemon Law? If so, I'd start there.

The timing chains and tentioners and more are all shot. Been at dealer all week torn apart.

What year is the vehicle? If it is 2007 or newer it has a 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty on the power train. So if that is the case, it should be covered under warranty. (This is per my DH, he is a Service Director for Chevy.)

My dad had a GMC truck that had engine trouble and a rattling window. He brought it in to be fixed many times and it still wasn't right. The local dealership didn't want to bother with him because he bought the truck out of state.

He finally found a lawyer on-line that specializes in lemon law. For $50 this lawyer drafted a letter to GMC. Basically it said fix the truck and warranty it or it was going to be turned in on the lemon law. He heard back from GMC instantly. The work was done to satisfaction and they extended the warranty.

Believe me I am giving it my all first to work it out with GM but right now they are not being to willing. If I cant get any where a lawyer maybe my next step.
A brand new $46,000 vehicle should not have to have to have the engine torn apart at 3500 miles!
All I want is reassurance back in my expensive new vehicle.

I know that's right! Good luck!:goodvibes

From personal experience, many months of trying to "give them the benefit of the doubt" that GM actually cared about their customers.... file a complaint with your Attorney Generals office or hire a lemon law lawyer ASAP. If you file a complaint with your AG office, someone will call you PRONTO from GM and work with you. That's the only way I got ANY response from them. I can give you the name of my lawyer, he really helped me but I think he can only practice in Ohio. AND he's gonna take half of any settlemet you get. AG's office is free.

Do this first thing tomorrow. Seriously. Good luck.

Like I said, it was $50 for the lawyer to draft a letter-this was in 2003 or 2004. I'd get the name for you but my dad is out deer hunting and I'll probably won't see him until Thanksgiving! Just do a search for lemon law lawyers and your state. Or do you have a legal plan through your employer? If so you could use them.

Like I said, my dad got a call from GM almost instantly, just days after the letter was sent. They do not want the vehicle to go under the lemon law becase they will have to destroy it (at least in Michigan they do). My dad ended up working out a very good warranty deal. It was even transferrable so it made selling it easier. They totally rebuilt the engine and finally fixed the rattle in the window once and for all. After all the work was done it ran perfectly until he sold it.

In a thread you posted 3 days before this one you said they were fixing it! You seemed concerned if it would hold up, others reassured you there was nothing to worry about.

Sounds like they are fixing it which is what any company is suppose to do when the item is under warranty.

We just went thru this with our Maytag dishwasher. It was under warranty, had a recall because it could cause a fire so they came out and put a new part in it.

Real good QUALITY workmanship from GM huh? :headache:

I don't doubt that there is significant frustration...after all, you spent a lot of money on a new car and never expected to have this happen.

But it does happen...albeit in rare cases...and unfortunately it happened to you.

If GM is indeed taking the steps necessary to fix your car without cost to you, I don't know that you have much of a beef right now. I think I'd be happy that they were taking time to make sure it got fixed right.

Totally different story if they fail to follow through on a valid warranty issue but until that happens, I think I'd work WITH them, not against them.

I think I now understand why you didn't really want help with any issue. It sounds like they're doing exactly what they should be. I really wish you hadn't wasted my time. :sad2:

To all of these previous posters we all know Gm gives nothing for free!

Then please explain to me why GM would extend my warranty for nothing? They knew from day 1 it was poor quality!

Also THANK YOU to all who were kind and supportive.

Because they want to keep you as a customer, and let you know that they understand your frustration and concern for future problems.

If they knew it was poor quality, why WOULD they offer to continue to fix it under a warranty extension when that will COST them money? If they knew it was poor quality, they would want to rid themselves of the problem as quickly as possible by NOT extending the warranty.
