Is it possible to block someone so you don't have to read their post?

Yup - it's called "IGNORE".

Go into your control panel (click on "USER CP" which is the left end of the banner across the top of the page).

On the left handside side, click "EDIT IGNORE LIST".

Type the member's name into the box and hit "OKAY".

Be prepared, though, if someone else quotes your ignored poster, you'll still be seeing their posts.

Well, phooey! Search didn't turn up any conflicts with the OP and the last post was 9/19. I was hoping for exciting reading this afternoon. (year end and systems are down.)

Sometimes certain people are annoying. I've been bothered by some people's posts and put them on ignore so I didn't have to read all of the (sometimes) mean-spirited or rude posts. There doesn't have to be conflict involved to be annoyed...

I was actually okay with not looking but then someone would copy a post and then I'd get irritated and feel obligated to reply. I gave up on putting people on ignore and just try to do it mentally now.

I have to admire those of you who actually have the discipline to have an ignore list. I'm not good at all ignoring anything except DH and the kids...

Sorry to spoil your fun WV Jules, a poster on here just grates on my nerves and I would prefer not so see their postings.
