Help - I need to make a choice between Animal Kingdom Lodge and Yacht Club. This is for two nights at Thanksgiving, which will follow 3 other nights at Boardwalk Villas (all DVC is already full for these last two nights.) Please give me your opinion as to which location is best. (We are a family of 4 with an 8 and 4 year old.)

Thanks for your input.

I think that either resort would be great for your kids! If your kids like animals a lot, I think AKL has the edge. If they are like fishes and love to swim, then the BC has the edge. Of course, you could get lucky and come off the DVC waitlist for those 2 days.

BTW, you might have had more responses if your subject had been something a little more specific than "Help!!" :).

I guess I would have to say go for the AKL. Youre already staying within walking distance of epcot. AKL is far more different from BWV than YC.

I would say YC. There's so much to do in that area and the pools are awesome!

I've stayed at the YC many times and just stayed at AKL a couple of weeks ago. While AKL is a fun resort it is secluded and you have to take a bus to get everywhere. I much prefer the location of the YC and its close proximity to Epcot, MGM Studios and the Boardwalk.

You can't go bad with either choice! :)

I'd say AKL because it's more "thanksgivingy" but what do I know?

I would vote for staying at AKL--you will love it (and so will your kids!:D) We stayed there last year the three days before Thanksgiving and then switched to BC. Since you will be at the BWV anyway, you will have enough time to explore the Epcot area parks and the Boardwalk during your time at BWV.

We choose to go to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom during the time we were at the AKL. One suggestion I would give--make sure to spend some time at AKL itself. We didn't spend enough time exploring and we regretted it later! :( We were kind of in commando-mode when we got to WDW (it was our first time there). You and your kids will enjoy the animals and the resort. They have a storytelling thing at night. The pool is very nice and fun for the kids. It was kind of peaceful and relaxing.

Have fun!:D
