Im due to fly out this monday and I can see that the weather forecast is terrible for orlando! thunderstorms and rain every day! I new there would be rain but would the rain be heavy and frequent and ruin our trip at the parks or am i just panicking?

thanks

I don't think you'd find a day in July/August that thunderstorms and rain are not predicted. You'll just have to wait and see. Be sure to pack a cheap plastic poncho, throw it on when it rains ... really isn't anything you can do about it. We were at Disney during Tropical Storm Faye last year ... rained hard every day.

With the exception of one day when it rained from the morning on throughout the whole day, most mornings were beautiful and sunny. The thunder clouds start forming in mid-afternoon. There was a downpour one day around 3 pm but we were at tea in the GF so we missed having to walk around it that. On some days it was only a light sprinkle so it's hard to predict what the afternoons have in store. We carried around ponchos and only used the umbrella one day. If you do buy the lightweight ponchos from the dollar store, buy a few extra as they do tear quite easily but the advantage is you can fold them up and compress them more easily than the WDW ponchos.
