Hi there!

We booked our dream wedding on Saturday For April 2010 at the wedding pavillion :cloud9: However... I'm now thinking this was a mistake!!

We only have 10/15 guests coming (We're travelling from the UK) and i'm now worried that the pavillion is just too big of a venue for such a small wedding party!

Do you think I should change the location or has anyone had a small wedding there??

xXx

I have a million and one questions for you!! :)

Firstly, you looked absolutely stunning! Your wedding looked perfect and congratulations!!

It looks exactly how I hope mine too!

We're staying at the Grand Floridian with the ceremony at the pavillion. I want to book cinderella's coach (Apparently you cant book it from the UK?) and the Magic Kingdom photo package.

Your pictures are beautiful, were they through disney or an outside vendor??

Also, your hair and makeup, who did you arrange that through?

So sorry to bombard you with questions, I just have no idea where to start planning and dont want to forget anything!!

Although I have got 15 months to go :)

Congratulations on booking your wedding !!!

We are having our wedding at the pavilion and are having 17 guests so 19 of us in total, There are brides on here who have had less and it was still perfect !

Once you inside the pavilion it doesnt seem as big as it looks in the pictures.

Hello from another fellow UK bride!

We flew with first choice over to Florida this past June, we were going to book through them for the intimate package but we found that you do lose out on the wedding planner and co-ordinators. If you want anything extra it's booked through the travel company and they then liase with you and Disney to make the booking. You don't really speak to Disney they do it all for you. To be honest I'm the type of person who has to have everything under control and it felt like I wouldn't be. I had been on this site before I booked it with them so went in explaining that I wanted extras and they didn't have a clue. Not to put you off at all just putting in my pennies worth but I didn't have any confidence in the sales advisor or the dedicated weddings team when I spoke to them and I spoke to number of them.

I still booked my holiday through them and they were great but I'm so glad I decided not to use them for the wedding. I booked it all through Disney directly and had no problems.

We also had 15 of us in total and got married at the pavilion. It didn't look too big, to be honest it felt intimate and I didn't even take in the empty seats. It felt perfect because we had planned to get married there, it was definately the right choice for us.

Yes, Through First Choice. The Premium intimate wedding package.

Is there a reason you booked through a travel agent? I heard of another girl on this board who booked through a TA and they went under and she had to pay for everything all over again because the agency never gave Disney the money. Also, it is too early too book a wedding for April 2010 so Disney has not confirmed your date yet. Hope that doesn't sound rude.

You can see photos in our trip report http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1993269 We had under 30 guests so it was a smaller group.

Hi there and congrats on planning a Disney wedding! I have never heard of being able to have a Disney wedding that wasn't booked through Disney directly... I live in the US though... don't know if that makes a difference. I would call Disney directly for sure though just to confirm the agency you are using can actually do this for you. Disney weddings can not be officially booked and confirmed for your date until 12 months out though... before that they "pencil" you in but it isn't gauranteed and if more than one bride wants that date they hold a lottery. So... don't get too attached to your date just yet...sorry I just don't want you to get your hopes up. Just call Disney and they should be able to clear it up for you.

As for the WP being too big for your group I think it will be fine... as you can see many brides do this. There is also an outside area at the WP that is used mainly for pictures but I believe you can have it there if you have a small enough group. I have a pic that I will post when I get home (sorry not on my own computer right now). I think an small wedding would be beautiful and very intimate there and then if you have any weather issues the chapel is your back-up. The other thing you may not know since you're booking through an agency is that there are 2 types of Disney weddings... Wishes and Escape. With less then 20 guests Escape may be right for you... go to www.disneyweddings.go.com and you will find all the info there. Good luck!

Ok... so here are the pictures as promised. I think they may call this picture point or something like that. It's on the side of the chapel. The pictures really don't do it justice, there is a great view of the castle- in real life it appears MUCH closer than in the pictures.

I'm sure they could set up chairs for your guests on the grass area and have your attendants just next to the steps. I haven't actually seen anyone on the boards who has done this but have heard this rumored to be done before. Can anyone else confirm this? I loved this site, I thought it was very intimate and romantic. This was a close second for me when I was choosing a site (we chose Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian). Hope this helps! Keep us updated!

I have never heard of anyone not being able to have the coach before. We booked direct with Disney because I wanted direct contact with them. We also went for the wishes wedding in the end which we wouldn't have been able to do we a travel agent.

Our pictures were taken my Misty an outside vendor. I would highly recommend her.

My hair was done by Ana, I can't remember the name of the company right now but I'm sure someone can help.

It hasnt got off to the best start anyway to be honest...
We ended up making a formal complaint against the travel consultant that booked everything as we were given next to no details on anything. She told me she was faxing over our requested dates etc to Disney and that we'd hear back within 14 days. (I havent been told it's too early to book this in advance?!)

I told the agent that we want to book cinderella's coach and the Magic kingdom photo's (This has now increased to a Major Domo and private fireworks display!) and she advised us that they cannot book it from the UK it can only be booked once we're out there. I find it hard to believe there would be availability at such short notice?!

If I had known that we could book everything directly than I would have... We've already paid our deposit now though.

I'm starting to lose all confidence with First choice! They havent so much as mentioned that we cant officially have our wedding date until April!! :sad2:

We do get a wedding coordinator at Disney through this package though, I've just double checked the brochure.. Got a bit concerned for a minute then!

The outside archway at the pavillion looks perfect... :yay: I shall enquire.. As soon as I have details!

I feel like everythings all over the show at the moment!

I originally booked the wedding with Virgin but decided I wanted to go direct with Disney. Because it was more than a year out and they can't contract in with Disney yet I got my £100 deposit back.

This doesn't sound right to me and I personally wouldn't be happy doing this.

I think i'm going to pop in this afternoon and see if we can cancel.

B2B, if you dont mind me asking, what was the total cost of your wedding? (Not including hotels, flights) ?

xXx

We gave Disney around $16,000, But I could have cut that down by at least $4000 if we didn't have all the trimmings we wanted.

We paid extra for Misty and the video man Stan as they are not part of Disney.

We had Misty all Day, I think unlimited hours.

Yes you have to pay for Minnie and Mickey. I think it was $1200 for both of them.

A lot of the information they have given you sounds incorrect. How much was your deposit? It might be worth losing it at this point depending on how much you paid. You can go through Disney directly for everything and you have to book the MK photos, fireworks etc. before you get there. You might also want to consider a Wishes wedding if you are wanting all of those things because in between the coach, Mickey & Minnie, and fireworks you will probably be able to meet the minimums and have a reception and more control over your choices.

Perhaps if you call them out on all their wrong information they will give your deposit back, just say you spoke with Disney directly.

Let us know what happens and if you have any questions.
