I need airfare for march 2008. when can i expect southwest to open up that time frame? also, i saw an ad for priceline sale thru 7/4/07. I have never used them before any advice?

Next week they are supposed to open dates through January 11 and then after that they should have a note on their website as to when the next set of dates will be released. If I had to guess, I'd say probably sometime in August.

Regarding Priceline, check out www.biddingfortravel.com - it is a help site and message board for priceline users. The information there is extremely valuable. However, the site is heavily moderated - it is not like the DIS where people post questions (often without reading the FAQ) and users post back with advice. The site gives you plenty of information in the FAQ for you to educate yourself on how priceline works, and then you can post a request for bidding advice on your specific itinerary (hotel stay, plane ticket, etc.) and other people post what they have gotten from Priceline and at what price so people can get a sense of what they ought to be bidding. So really it's more about how to use Priceline efficiently - to know where to start and stop your bidding - than a beginner's guide to Priceline, but as I say, the info for beginners is all there, just don't pop over there and start posting questions without reading the FAQ first. They're nowhere near as tolerant of that as the DIS is.
