My parents and I are going to Disney for spring break. My parents don't really see what I see in Disney. I had to convince them to go. My dad thinks magic kingdom is for kids, Epcots boring, MGM is just like the local theme park and that animal kingdom is a zoo.:headache: All he wants to do is sit by the pool. My mom thinks that Disney is commercial. Please help. Thanks for any advice.

Where staying at POFQ on monday were by the pool and were eating at boatwrights. On tuesday were going to Epcot and were eating at the garden grill. On wensday were at MGM and we will eat at brown derby. on thursday were going to MK and were eating at the crystal palace and on friday were by the pool and are eating at Kona.

I think the only way to convince them is for them to actually see it and expierience it. My parents both really enjoy it there is so much there to do for people of all ages. And if you dad really wants to just be by the pool you guys could go to a water park. They're always fun.

o i have friends like that .lol. anyway maybe make a list of interseting things at each place to show that that those parks arent boring or for little kids..and maybe one of those books so you can plan out your trip to try new interesting things

dont know if those will help but oo and also..if you parents like to relax with a glass of wine or a mug a beer...that is a key for Epcot

we watched the planing video and that got my mom excited. Thanks for the help so far. And kid goofy my parents don't drink.

I completly agree. Take them around, be their 'tour guide' and show them what you love so much. Take them on your favorite rides, show them your favorite attractions. Let them see how happy it makes you, and they won't be able to just want to stay by the pool anymore!
Good luck and HAVE FUN!:goodvibes

Look, your parents don't know what they're getting themselves into.
For years my mother tried to convince my dad to take us, of course we had setbacks like 9/11 (my dad refused to go on a plane), lack of money and interest.
But my mum brought the subject back up before I turned twelve. My dad was NOT interested as he thought Disney was hell, that 7 days there was too much. So my mother got him by changing it to three days in Disney, four on a cruise, and seven in Orlando to relax.
That was the year my dad fell in love with it. For a long time he had forgotten what it was like to be a kid again, he loved to see us happy, the parades we marvelous and everything. He never thought he'd like it, he never thought he'd go back.
But we did. And he fell more in love. It's hard for him now that we can't go back, it's hard for him to see a Disney commercial, or such.

Basically, none of us knew what we were getting into before we went.
It's the experience that changes our minds forever.

Once you get there, they'll realize how much more there is to do.
POFQ is my favorite resort. The pool is great. The food court is amazing. The whole resort is so well themed. It will put you into the mood for disney.

My family went with my grandmother, aunt, and uncle, and their idea of a disney vacation is getting up at noon, getting to the parks around 2, eating, and shopping.
My family is exactly opposite. We like to be up, and ready for park openings and such.
We totally clashed.
but we made it work for both of us.

I think being there will excite your family.

have fun!
