Help!!!

Went to pick up my wedding gown on saturday to be told they couldnt box it so that i could carry it on as hand luggage!
Wanted to do twilight check-in, but i am now concerned about leaving my wedding gown overnight in a case in the airport,
any advice???
do you think it will be secure?
Are cases in a secure area?
What would you do?
We go on Wednesday (fly Thursday)
I have pre-wedding, pre-flying & pre-holiday nerves all rolled into one!!!

Ring your airline, I assume it is Virgin - I am sure they will be more than happy to advise the best way forward.

I didn't do twilight check in with my wedding dress but I did check it in as hold luggage and it was fine. Give Virgin a call and ask them if you have it in a dress bag can the stewardess store it for you?

It wont fit!!!

I have rang Virgin atlantic & just got the standard reply that i can only take it on as hand luggage if it fits in the size bag/box required!
Which it doesnt!
So i have to decide whether to check it in at twilight check-in or go to the airport really early & check it in on the day
(wanted to do twilight as we couldnt pre book our seats - all gone!!)

We have used twilight checkin many times and touch wood nothing has happened to our luggage if that helps reassure you.

Ive got the same situation in december, mine is unable to be boxed up so i either have to check mine or fed ex it to my wedding planner. Although virgin asked me if it could squash it into a small case by using one of those vacuum bags?

Another girl from the boards (penlanspice) checked her dress into the hold, i believe she did twilight check in and i know her dress got through ok!!

Well after a very nice e-mail from virgin atlantic customer services & one from virgin weddings & after speaking to a friend who has done twilight check-in & reading your comments, i have decided to do the twilight check-in!
We are off tomorrow (fly Thursday), thanks for the advice, if it goes missing i will blame you lot only joking lol
