I'm trying to finish my very first scrapbook page ever, and I'm using the Xyron repositionable tape I bought at Big Lots last week. I don't know if I'm using it correctly or not, but when I try to tear off a piece it gets gummy and sticks to my fingers and then by the time I get the tape torn off and cut, half of the adhesive is gone. What a mess! I wonder if the tape is just old or if that's just the way it works---I really don't know! I was so excited to finally be putting my pages together, and now I've run into a roadblock. I do have an acid-free glue stick. Should I just use that for now? I'd like to be able to move things around if I need to---that's why I bought the repositionable tape. It took me so long just to get my pics, paper, supplies and everything together.

Anybody have any experience with this type of tape?

Well, after seeing everyone's "Big Lots" posts a couple of weeks ago, I went and bought the Xyron tape (both permanent and repositionable) to try out. I am having the same problem with it. It is making a big mess, leaving these sticky "glue boogies" on my hands and all over the little teeth that you tear the tape against (does that make sense?)! While it seemed like a bargain, I don't think I am really overjoyed with it. I guess I'll use it so I am not being wasteful, but will probably go back to Hermafix.

LOL, that's what I'm talking about---the little "boogies" it makes!! It gunks up the tearing edge, and then it gets stuck all over my fingers, then it spreads to anything I touch. Yuck!!

Anyway, I forgot I had bought some of those little adhesive squares and dug those out of the pile of my "stuff" (it's really accumulating, and I'm just finishing my first page--I've got to use all of it now---can't go shopping anytime soon.......). So.....I used the little squares to adhere things to the page with and....DA DA! I finished my very first page! Yay!!!

No more fear of the white pages!

YAY YOU! Congrats on your first page! I remember my first page like it was only yesterday...... :charac2:

Maybe the "boogies" are just an inherent Xyron problem. I have the Xyron 500 with a repositionable adhesive refill in it and it leaves the boogies everywhere too! :confused3
