Help with when to go!

Dis'ers I need your help!

Basically i'm leaving for disneyland on Nov 9th and i will be in california till Nov 16th. I will most likely be flying in late afternoon and flying out early/late afternoon. I'm planning to spend 2-3 days in the parks and the rest touring socal. Problem is I'VE JUST REALIZED IT'S VETERANS DAY!!! I only realized when looking up the calender and wondering why disneyland was open till 12am!

I read a couple posts on the internet about how it's ridiculously busy on the weekend and mon/tues might be a total nightmare.

My dilema is when should i go to disneyland?
Should i go do socal first? (i'll be visiting my friend in san francisco by rental car) and go to disneyland maybe weds, thurs, fri? Or just suck it up and do Mon, tues, weds like originally planned?

It'll be my and my dbf second time to disneyland and it was a commando trip last time so we rushed through a lot in order to get to ride all the rides etc. This time my plan was to take it slow, watch the fireworks, ride what we want and just have fun and not worry about not having enough time to ride the rides.

Any help would be appreciated!

I think touring socal while the locals hit up DL over the holiday weekend would be smarter. Then return wednesday and hopefully the locals are back to school/work.

I think if it's easy for you to flip your plans the crowds will be much better the second half of the week for sure.

A quick check of rhe DLR calendar shows that the entertainment drops of Wed/Thurs that week. So if the fireworks are important as you said, then be careful to save a night for that which is not Wed/Thurs. In fact, I would save two nights in case they get cancelled. That would mean touring maybe Thur/Fri/Sat (which is what I would do if I were you).
