I remember reading about recommendations for certain sections of Vistana. We have a Sunday check-in and I think some told what color on the Vistana Map is Friday,Sat, or Sunday check-in. Any help would be great, I can't locate the old threads. Thanks Donna

You should call 1-800-vistana and ask what room number you're reserved in. In all likelihood, they'll be able to tell you and that will answer your question. If it's in a "phase" of the resort that you're not happy with, you'll have plenty of time to pressure them to change it in advance. You're much more likely to get a change now than when you're standing in front of the check-in desk.

We went on Sunday in July of '04 and got Cascades, but I know some of the older phases check-in on Sunday as well.

Donna,
A Sunday check-in will get you just about anything BUT the Courts and Spas (two of the oldest sections). The color on the map is "green". But it's pretty much open season on what you get since the resort is so big. Make sure you specify your section requests (give them an order of preference) when you make your ressie. If you've already made the ressie, call back up and make your request known. Also, about a week before check-in, go to Vistana's Diamond Lane and fill in the online request form : https://www.svosecure.com/starwoodvo/diamond.jsp?resortID=5
You can request water view, ground floor, section etc. Honestly, I think your best chance at getting a certain section would be to keep it simple. Don't list too many specific requests because the Room Controller may find it difficult to fulfill all of them. If, i.e., the Lakes section is your #1 priority request, put that down.
I've been a Vistana owner since '94 so let me know if I can help any further.
Have a nice vacation

We might be checking in on a Friday or Saturday. Which sections are given on those days. We are thinking of staying at a universal resort first and going to the parks with FOTL and then going to vistana resorts.

Pretty much everything BUT the Falls section. The Courts is the oldest section and they are assigned on Saturdays so you could have a chance at getting them. Call the 800# and make your requests known.

Thanks for the heads up, we are not going for quite awhile, but I would prefer not to be in the courts section. I am hoping we arrive on Friday and hopefully get cascades. They only thing we are paying 99.99 per night through the spg site. It states 1 king bed and 2 double beds (sleeps 6), so who know what I will get. :flower:

If it's any consolation, Vistana tends not to place "renters" in the Courts. Usually it's exchangers they assign there, but I'd still make any requests known on the reservation. The fact that you have 2 "double" beds in the second bedroom also guarantees you will not be placed in the Falls section as they have 2 twin beds. Good luck.

We were in the Lakes section (2 bed, 2 bath) a few weeks ago and we loved it!!!!!!!!! We checked in on a thursday and left on a sunday. Have a great trip!
