Help! We finally decide to book yesterday when I found flights on Virgin to MCO for the both of us at 753 pounds total. You would think I would have booked it, but nooooooooo :headache:. I actually did almost but had all this trouble with my MC because I hadn't registered it with "securecode". Eventually I got a message on the screen that said I should call Virgin directly, but I didn't as I had to make a trip to the bank to sort out this secure code thing.

This morning rolls around and when I try to book I find that the tickets have gone up 200 pounds  :headache:!

This is for the flights out of Gatwick on Nov. 29 - Dec. 14th. Does anyone know if they will go back down again (pray) , or was the price I got yesterday a fluke?
One thing that was weird was the morning flight was much more than the later flight, so I was trying to book that.

Yesterday was the last day of a 10 - 14 day sale. There will probabaly be another sale but not sure if the prices will be as good or the flights you want included in that sale. The secure code is only for intervet bookings it would of been fine to use the card over the phone.

Claire ;)

Thank you Claire for your quick reply :). I didn't notice there was a sale, how stupid am I! My boyfriend actually asked last night if we should book it or wait until morning, but he had waffled on the whole idea and I didn't want to take advantage when he gave the okay (:faint:)! I've learned my lesson now for next time though! Pressure the men till they say alright, the BOOK IT!

May still just go and book it, but ugh that hurts!

have you tried shopping around for flights or do you want to go with VA? can you travel on other dates?

Hi, yes I tried. We like Virgin but BA is fine too. I checked BA and they are much more expensive. I originally wanted to fly out on the 30th Nov. since that is when all the Thanksgiving people leave but I couldn't get a flight to Gatwick from Sweden, where we live . I worried traveling when the airports in the US should be a complete madhouse but since we are coming in from the UK I think we will miss all that. We want to fly direct since we have to first fly from Copenhagen Denmark to the UK, and it usually takes us about 24 hours from the time we wake until we get to WDW.

Can you tell I'm still determined to go :goodvibes ! Although I just checked my files from 2006 and we only paid 596 pounds when we went with Virgin that year!

virgin holidays are doing your dates but coming back on the 15th dec for £894

Hi again! Wayne, I do believe you've saved the day :yay:! We have discussed it and have decided to go with the Lufthansa flight you recommended so thank you! It just makes sense to use a connecting flight, much less hassle. In 2006 we flew with Virgin and used Sterling Air to get back to Sweden, and it was a crowded mad house trying to catch the Sterling Flight. I think I allowed about 2 hours but there wasn't much to choose from.

Which leads to my next question, there is a window of 1 hour 5 minutes in Germany between our connection on to MCO, with the next offer just over 3 hours. We would rather choose the shorter one and I'm thinking since they offer it it should be enough time?

He one from Copenhagen has changes of 2hr:20m going and 1hr:5m return. I would accept them. Price has dropped slightly when I just checked $1,845

The cheaper one from Sweeden is OK going out but a little longer than I would like on rturn at 4hr:55m

All depends which is easiest airport for you and if you are happy with price but times are OK.

Let us know how you get on.

We are all booked :jumping1: ! We will be flying for the first time with Lufthansa and I'm so excited we are finally going back to WDW :goodvibes ! If our trip is anything near the magical trip we had in 2006 then it will be brilliant! We chose the flights from Copenhagen since it is so close, just a pretty simple trip over the gorgeous Oresund Bridge to Denmark. I've contacted Dreams Unlimited for our tickets and Pop Century bookings, not because I can't do it myself by now but more as a thank you since I really enjoy listening to the podcast here on the Dis every week :thumbsup2 .
Thank you everyone who responded to my thread this morning and especially you Wayneg for your advice :goodvibes .

I am off to plan my 2nd Christmas Season Walt Disney World Trip!!! :woohoo:
