Help with Universal Characters/Parks

I have never been to Universal, but I am making a keepsake album for a MAW family who is traveling there this spring. First - is there more than one park? (like WDW has 4) If so, who are 2 or 3 of the "main" characters at each park. (ie Magic Kingdom could be Mickey or Cinderella) Thank you for your help!!!

There are two parks.

At Universal some main characters are Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, Dora, ET

At IOA there are Spiderman, Hulk, the superheroes, Cat in the Hat, Harry Potter

Universal is also Simpsons and Scooby Doo.

Universal is also Simpsons and Scooby Doo.

Scooby Doo is usually found with Shaggy.

There's also the Madagascar characters too.

Depends on the character...some are longer than others but generally...the lines are shorter than at WDW.

yes universal has 2 parks the other park is called Islands of Adventure.

Jumping in here with a question.... so.. I know Spongebob makes appearances.. but is Patrick ever with him? That was the first question my nephew asked me when I told him we would be going to Universal this year. He was all excited and said.. Is Patrick Going to be there?? And I of course blurted out YES... DUH!! This kid forgets NOTHING.. so..I am hoping that there is a chance I was right?? Although I am not holding out much hope since I don't see Patrick in anyone's pictures.. ever... Sooooo.. Anyone??? Thank you!

Of all the times we have been to Universal I do not recall ever seeing Patrick, only Spongebob. However, at the Nick hotel they do have a character breakfast. Here is the info from their website:SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick, Dora the Explorer, and others show up for the daily Character Breakfast. Cost is $10 for children ages 12 and under; $17 for ages 13 and older. Reserve ahead. We are going next week so I will ask if Patrick ever shows up.

I have yet to see Patrick at US.. but I have seen him at Nick Hotel. Nick Hotel is great.. especially during the summer!!!
