HI,

Today, I found out I am going to WDW for the first time. I am going Feb.5-12 and I dont know what to do or bring down there! Can anyone get me some tips about down there or what rides to ride first? Thank you if you can!

Superly happy,
Rachel

I am staying at the All Stars(Buzz hopefully). Sorry if I sound rushed on my other reply but my brother wanted to play his new game on the computer. I have no clue what to bring for Disney and my mom wants us to pack early so we know what we forgot and pack it.

Wow, that's awesome you're going for the first time!! You'll have a great time. :D

As for the rides, I'd definitely check out the "big" ones like Splash, Space and Thunder Mountains (Magic Kingdom), Test Track and Mission:Space (Epcot), Tower of Terror and Rock 'N Rollercoaster (MGM) and Kilimanjaro Safaris and Dinosaur (Animal Kingdom). I'd also do Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom. Maybe what you could do is go onto the Disney World website (http://www.disneyworld.com ) and check out all the attractions at each of the parks to see what you'd really be interested in doing. There's also a lot more stuff to do down there, like Downtown Disney (a big shopping district), mini golf, and the water parks. Again I'd check out the Disney World website to check out the things that you'd want to do.

I've only been to Disney World once in February, and it was unusually cold, but I'd say pack shorts and t-shirts, as well as some warmer clothes just in case. Since you're flying, make sure to bring something to do on the plane!

I hope this helps you a little bit. Feel free to PM or IM me if you have any more questions. :D And enjoy your trip!

Make sure you get some pins to trade, bring your camera, and buy your parents a disney gift to say "thanks" for the trip.

Make sure you bring a sweatshirt and a couple pairs of pants. It can get a little chilly down there, especially around this time. We went towards the end of January a couple times and it went down to the 50s on one trip.
If and when you go to Animal Kingdom, go to Kilimanjaro Safaris first. There is less of a wait in line and you get to see more animals.

I went in January and it was warm. So it might be warm in Feb....lets get to pins. bring a lot I got some and didn't rade but you can trade your pins to other people with pins. My family brought extras so we gave them to other people with pins.TIP: do NOT eat right before you go on a ride!!!!!! PM me if you want more!!!..............................L

aww that's so cool you're going for the first time! you'll love it and soon be crazy like the rest of us, haha.

What to pack: it can even get chilly in florida in the winter, so i'd suggest bringing both shorts and jeans. Oh, and a sweatshirt....i've been down in november and december and that's definitely a good idea. Definitely bring $$ to buy souveneirs and a camera of course, you'll want to take lots of pics.

What to do:
Magic Kingdom: the 3 mountains (splash, big thunder, and space) definitely.
Epcot: Test Track and Mission: Space
MGM: Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster
Animal Kindom: Dinosaur and Kilimanjaro Safari

Those are the 4 main parks, but there's also 2 water parks and 2 miniature golf courses that are a lot of fun too. And check out downtown disney for awesome shopping.

I agree with wdwgirl, go to disney world's website to find out more, there are so many more awesome rides in all of the parks, i just mentioned the thrill ones! i'd also suggest buying Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World if you want to go more in depth.

Hope this helped and feel free to PM me with any questions! :-)

First, I want to say congrats. You'll love it at Disney!

What to bring(to the parks):
A camera
A water bottle (that way you can re-fill it. Disney has tons of water fountains, and their pop and water bottles cost a fortune)
LOTS of $$ (bleieve me, you'll need it)
a hip-pack/purse with money for pay-phones (if you don't have a cell-phone), a pen and/or pencil, and once you got them souvineers, a park map, and fastpasses.
a watch
and my brother recomends a few chains, so you can chain your valuable items to your hip pack/purse.
Do NOT take any un-necisary (sp?) items to the parks, because you will have to carry them around, and eventually, they'll get heavy.

What to bring (to Florida):
Sweats/long pants/jeans (incase it gets chilly)
Flat tennishoes (heels will get uncomforable)(sandles might make your feet exposed to chillieness)
tee shirts
shorts
sweat shirt
a watch
hair things (if your hair is long enough, it will bug the back of your neck)
a bathing suite

What time to arrive:
Arrive a little early so you can get through security (if you get there later, the lines will take you a hour)

What to ride first (Magic Kingdom):
Hit the big rides first, as they will be more popular. My family, though, goes on Dumbo first, for sentimental reasons. Then, I also highly reccomend going on not-as-big-but-almost-still-as-popular rides like Pirates Of the Carribean, and The Haunted Mansion. Pooh gets pretty long lines aswell.

What to ride first (Epcot):
Epcot only has two major rides, one of which I have never been on. I would hit Test Track first, then get a cast member to tell you about Misson:Space. I've heard about M:S, before, and since then, I have no plans to ride that ride. I heard it spins, and gets you sick to your somach. There is also a ride in the big bulby thing. I love it. My mind just blanked out and I forget what it's name is. It is a whole family ride.
Epcot is popular for The World Showcase. They have snipits of places all around the world. Norway I'm sure of has a ride. I forget what it's all about. You can get really cool pictures. Be sure to stay around for Illuminations, which is like the coolest show in Disney.

What to ride first (MGM Studios):
DEFENETLY Hit Tower of Terror first. That and Rock'n'roller coaster have un-heard of long lines after about the first 5 minutes of the park being open. Tower of Terror and R'n'R are more teen-based rides, so I sugjest that if you have younger siblings, ride it first, to see if you think they would like it.
Later in the day, I would recomend the little icecream place near TOT, called The Sunshine (I think...) It has REALLY good icecream and it's a must.
As far as shows are concerned, the most major one is called Fantasmic. It is a little scarey for younger peoples, and I think it is a waste of time. Fantasmic is basically a night time "spectacular" where all the disney villans are teaming up to destroy Mickey, and mickey has to find a way to fight back.

What to ride (Animal Kingdom)
Ask someone else. I haven't ben there in YEARS.

DownTown Disney:
Downtown Disney is an awesome place to shop and eat. If you go at night, it is cool because you can see all the lights. IMHO, don't make it a whole day thing, just go on one of the nights you have free.

Ah....the allstars...I love that place.

On the plane, I suggest that you bring a pack of hard candy. Is this your firs time fling?

I hope you have a wonderful vacation.

Feel free to P.M. me.

P.S. Make sure you get a pair of mouse ears.

Sorry for the long post, and yes, go on the Disney website, and get Birnbom's By Teens, for Teens (or By Kids, for Kids)

And Make Sure You Ride The Monarail
Yes! Definitely ride the monorail!
Try to get priority seating at 50s Prime Time Cafe in mgm.
Also try to see fantasmic (a water/fireworks/character/parade show). That is one of the best attractions there. Make sure you get there fairly early (30 min. at the latest) because it gets really crowded and you might not get in if you don't go that early.
Have fun!
Feel free to IM me if you want.

oh yeah, almost forgot! DEFINITELY hit all the night-time shows! wishes in magic kingdom, illuminations in epcot, and fantasmic in mgm are NOT to be missed!

yeah don't miss that downtown disney, even if your parents won't take you into the clubs the music they play outside on pleasure island is a lot of fun to dance to...

I've been there in February a few times before. Some years it was warm, some years it was cold. I'd suggest checking places like the Weather Channel about a week before you leave just to have an idea of what the weather will be like when you're there. Even if it's going to be warm, do bring stuff like a jacket, sweatshirts, etc. because the evenings can get to be chilly.

It isn't too crowded in February, so the lines shouldn't be that long. Definitely see all the nighttime shows, and the SpectroMagic parade in Magic Kingdom. Make sure you see Mickey's Philharmagic ( 3-D show) in Magic Kingdom, it's awesome!

Mission Space isn't as bad as everyone says it is, but if you get motion sickness or claustrophobic, I'd stay away from it. Otherwise, it is a great ride.

Hope you enjoy your trip! If you have anymore questions, PM me.

:wizard: Disney is truly an awesome place. :wizard:

If you guys havent already ordered the free vacation planning video that disney has either call or go online to get it. Even if its too late to help you plan for the trip it'll be like a nice little reminder when it comes in the mail after you get back!

When I went in February It never occurred to me that :earboy2: sunny ol' Florida :sunny: would ever get lower than 90 degrees, so I didnt think to bring a jacket, but boy was I wrong. Its not so bad when youre moving around in the daytime, but its can get pretty chilly at night, like during a parade or a show.

princess: Definately visit this site if you havent already--->DisneyWorld princess:
(It'll bring you to-www.disneyworld.com)

You definately have to make reservations for a restaurant in one of the resorts like, The Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or Animal Kingdom Lodge-the food is always great and you get to go and see the other resorts. Its a win-win deal! :umbrella:

Overall, just have fun and make the best of everything!
Its virtually impossible to have a bad time at Disney! :earseek:

:3dglasses Oh, and you have to see all the 3-D rides especially Its a Bugs Life at Animal Kingdom-in the "Tree of Life", its really cool walking through it because there are tons of animal carvings intertwined into the tree bark. And my personal favorite-Mickey's Philharmagic st Magic Kingdom, I think its the best 3-D movie of them all. :3dglasses

When I think of any thing else i'll post it for you!!
